Financial Housekeeping and Web3 Expansion: A Three-Day Journey

(Edited)

It has been an exciting three days in the business office. There have been a lot of changes. I am grateful for my load becoming lighter. I am like "Moses" due to many concerns; I failed to delegate numerous tasks that are supposed to be done by both the cashier and the accounting staff.

When I took this job, I told our president that my task was oversight and general supervision. When it comes to legal and financial matters, we need to hire lawyers and accountants.

This March is my second year in the business office. There was a time when I thought that this job would make my life shorter due to numerous tasks and pressures coming from many sources. When I voiced this concern in our administrative officers' meeting, the proposal was for me to list all the current tasks and, if necessary, create separate departments to address them.

Financial Housekeeping

From security to maintenance, dormitory and student affairs, the BOT and government compliances, banks and book suppliers, field tours, and health care companies, the water system in the campus, all the utility bills (Internet, water, and electricity), the salary of part-time faculty in the college, senior high school, and elementary levels, and not to mention the many proposals and projects that came into my table unexpectedly. I almost forgot to mention the concerns from basic education, technical-vocational, the human resource department, the registrar, the office of the academic dean, and renters in our facilities. All of these are on top of my responsibility as an instructor and as a father. This is the reason why I gave up pastoral ministry in a local church. Theological education is my ministry.

I have been suggesting this financial housekeeping since 2017. To my mind, the only way to improve our financial standing is to consult a corporate financial analyst. Present to him our financial statements and let him come up with a proposal.

After three days of financial housekeeping, I was unloaded with secondary tasks. My record-keeping becomes simple. I think this is worth a celebration.

Dinner Time and Blogging

After office hours, I cooked my food, and this is what I got:

KoreanNoodle.jpg

Our rice cooker is no longer working, so I combined rice and Korean noodles plus eggs, fish, and canned tuna. I am satisfied with my dinner.

After dinner, I turned to blogging.

Hive Onboarding

Last night, I mentioned that today I will transfer HIVE from MEXC and will buy layer two tokens. I was not able to do it this morning because we are still finalizing our balance sheet. In the afternoon, I also had a class.

Upon checking the Hive onboarding status of my students, I wondered why @mariamaryann5 was having difficulty accessing her Hive account through her mobile phone. Her account was created a month ago via InLeo, but every time she attempts to log in using Keychain, she receives a notification that her account is nonexistent. Two weeks ago, she ended up creating another account, but this account has no record on the chain.

And so, after several tries this afternoon, I decided to assist her using ecency. The free registration option responds that account creation cannot proceed due to an IP issue. And so I decided to go to paid registration. I paid 3 HIVE, and a new account was created.

Powering Up HIVE and Buying Layer 2 Tokens

To pay for @angelann12's account, I transferred 500 HIVE to my wallet. After powering up 247 HIVE, I transferred 250 HIVE to Hive Engine. I used this 250 HIVE to buy the following layer 2 tokens:

NameQuantityAmount in HIVE
TRIBE3030
CENT13,00035.75
BEE6825.66
POB4,10038.54
WAIV547.68
SWAP.GIFU50,00012
MEME50,00013
ZING5,00011.50
BEE11041.50
DEC2,6819.98
TOTAL-225.61

After buying both TRIBE and CENT, I immediately added $14.64 worth of liquidity to CENT: TRIBE LP.

As for DEC, I think time to pay the 1,000 DEC monthly contributions.

Other orders are just posted and not executed yet at the moment.

The reason why I bought another 110 BEE is because I want to explore token creation for the community I have in mind. Once I come up with reasonable tokenomics, that's the time I will create the token. On the community page, I described what this community is all about:

Tentmaker's Hive is a community on the Hive blockchain-inspired by Apostle Paul's tentmaking ministry, integrating faith, work, and financial sustainability in a Web3 environment. It serves as a space for pastors, theological students, church workers, and believers to share their faith, engage in meaningful discussions, and explore micro-finance opportunities through Hive's decentralized platform. By leveraging blockchain technology, Tentmaker's Hive empowers members to supplement their income while pursuing mission work, embodying the principle of self-sufficiency in ministry. Through blogging, networking, and innovative financial tools, the community seeks to bridge faith and the digital economy, fostering a sustainable and mission-driven presence in the Web3 space.

As for my Palawan article, God willing, I could write it by tomorrow.

Grace and peace!

It is good that the usual statement that in the past only two people in the business office were capable of doing all the tasks is no longer used.
