My Actifit Report Card: September 27 2023
Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday was yet again quite similar. Even if the weather was gloomy and even rainy at time, we spent time in the yard. The colors are slowly getting better.
Like I said, Kaia is just happy to get outside and walk a few steps.
But she's still very tired!
I also went again for a few steps in the nearby forest. Struggling to get even 10k steps these days!
In the late evening, after her dinner, Kaia wanted to play as usual. I don't know why my dogs always want to play after dinner. Not easy to keep her off her injured leg when she gets like that.
I guess Le Chat wanted some attention too, because for once she also spent time indoors, watching TV with us.
While Kaia recovers, our new routine is not very active, but I think I should be able to resume running very soon. I need it before the Detroit half marathon in less than 3 weeks now.

@manuvert, I've missed some things; what happened to Kaia? How did she get hurt? I hope it wasn't too serious!
The vine on the tree; is that Virginia Creeper something else? It looks like Virginia Creeper which also reminds me of poison oak.

Hey, thanks for stopping by. Kaia had a torn cruciate ligament in her back knee (equivalent of ACL in humans). She'd been limping for some time, and it got much worse when it finally got torn. Apparently, it's more of a progressive degenerescence for dogs, not sudden trauma like human. Anyways, she had surgery last Friday to try and fix it. The recovery should last 10 to 12 weeks and if all goes well, she'll be back to 100%.
I believe @tydynrain (sorry to tag you like that) did say this was Virginia Creeper a few days ago. I couldn't say, I don't know much about plants...
Not so sure about doing well in the half marathon but we'll see...

I hope Kaia heals quickly! I imagine it's hard for a dog who is used to running around.
It looks like my Virginia Creeper, so I suspect it is. There are some plant identifier apps (some paid and some free) you can get if you're interested in finding out some plants. I have plantsnap but was fortunate I got it when it was just $4.99.
