Hello everyone.

Welcome to my entry to Be frugal not Stingy community contest, with the Topic Transportation.

Transportation can be done in different means, ranging from air transportation,train transportation,water transportation, bus and car transportation and lots more.

Did I forget to mention Leggedizbenz?
Oooh well this is the one you do with your leg via(trekking) walking.

For my publication, I will talk on the ones I know that operates in my country and most especially the ones I have used so far.
The last statement will make you think I have used lots of it hahaha.
No please, I always stick to bus and car transportation.

Well, there was a time I needed to use water transportation through boat, but I was too scared of water and I don't know how to swim.
I declined, I had to go back to book a bus.
My friend I was supposed to travel with on the boat reached her destination hours before I got to meet her.
The boat was also more cheaper than using a bus.
My fear made me lose in two ways, and I still haven't changed after that.
To me I rather spend the whole day or two days on the road than using a boat.
This is for far distance journey though.

For short distance we all use buses, cars, or motorcycle.
Shame I don't know how to ride a bike, I know how to use my legs though.

The transportation cost of the city I live is cheap until the fuel subsidy removal that caused them to add money.
The city happens to have motorable major roads.
Though problems are encountered whenever it rains because of flooding.

A drop then was ₦50 ($0.065), far distance was ₦100($0.13).
But now a drop is ₦150 ($0.195).
I was among the people that normally pay for a drop, even for very short distance without blinking.
Until I discovered actifit, I had to walk more.
I stopped paying for short distances, even for far distance I walk.
My only challenge was I can't walk on deserted areas or places you hardly see people walk pass.
It made me check for alternatives, of following routes that are busy to get to where I want to go.
This made me walk more, and I enjoyed it.
I also enjoy when I have a walking buddy no worries.

Until the increment started, I had nothing to worry about again because a lot of people started walking more hahaha.
Some rode bicycle, the roads became more busy.

But for very far distance that you have to travel from one state to another.
There is no walking attached to this, you will have to pay for the increased price rate.
Like few weeks ago that I travelled, I used this transport company because their fare was cheaper than other places.
The problem with the transport company is their location seems to be in a hidden area of the city.
So, not much people know about them.
Making one wait hours for passengers, and another thing that contributed to it is the fuel subsidy removal.
People fear travelling because they believe the transport fare was going to be very high.

And of course the company increased their fare, something I used to pay ₦3500($4.43) to my destination is now ₦5000($6.33).
Though bad road contributed to it, because during the raining season the roads are very bad.
But the more visible reason for the increment is the fuel purchase price.

Well, it's more better than some transit that their transportation fare is ₦6500, theirs doesn't keep one for hours in the park because sometimes they mix the passengers with those going to a different place.
Then charge everyone the same amount.

Most times traveling using bus is not pleasant, you will have to go through a lot.
You will have to pray and wise up when in the park and on the road.
The good part is using a good transport company, at least you won't suffer more whenever the vehicle breaks down on the road.
They will immediately send a new one without allowing their passengers stay on the road for hours repairing the said vehicle.

There are a lot attached to transportation.
Though I will have to stop here because, I am currently sharing my most remembered experience so far.
