Walk and cinema or home version (movie on tv)?

The choice was easy to make that day.
On a nice, sunny day, option was, not leave the apartment and with a Netflix account, watch a movie on a small screen or walk around the city and watch a movie on a big screen in a cinema.

I don't usually go to the cinema during the day, but this was an exceptional opportunity.

We walked around the city center and stopped by the building of the Yugoslav Cinematheque(CINÉMATHEQUE
YOUGOSLAVE).

When viewed from a distance, the building that houses the Yugoslav Cinematheque does not look like a cinema at all.

However, you can spot it by the sculpture of Karl Malden, an American actor of Serbian-Czech descent, which has been smiling at passers-by since 2018.

The building itself dates back to the mid-19th century and served as the headquarters of the Serbian Red Cross in 1876.

Today, the building is a unique blend of old and new architecture, with a modern roof construction that complements the original structure.

Inside, you will find old film cameras, posters, and a large portal that provides an audio-visual guide to some of the most iconic Yugoslav films.

The Makavejev Hall is where the films are screened, and it used to be a ballroom where the elite of society gathered for balls in the 19th century and between the two world wars.

Today, visitors can enjoy the comfort of the chairs and wait for the movie to start while feeling the spirit of the old times.

Even if the movie is not to your liking, the experience of visiting this building and the hall where the film is projected is phenomenal, much better than watching Netflix. I highly recommend anyone who is passing by this building, whether it's a #wednesdaywalk or some other walk, to stop by and enjoy the ambiance and film productions that are on display here.
