One Wednesday and a short walk
I love to walk the quiet city streets where there is no traffic in autumn, when the days are dry and warm, before the rains start.
When the yellowed, dry leaves start to fall from the branches, a light breeze carries them everywhere...
If there is no rain that will stick each leaf to the ground, the leaves fly and fall on lawns, on the sidewalk, on parked cars, on the street...
The sound that reaches my ears, the sound of a dry leaf that I step on, relaxes and calms me.
I also like the smell of dry leaves...
And when the rains start, when all the fallen leaves stick to the sidewalk, I avoid any kind of walking, I leave the house only when I have to :-)
Today before noon, during a break in meetings, I decided to take advantage of part of the warm and sunny morning and I walked around the streets in my neighborhood.
Enjoyed the smell of a dry fallen leaf and the sounds I made when I stepped on it.
Under the wild chestnut tree I found several fallen fruits. Some were still in the shell, and some fell open from the branch.
I carefully picked up the unopened ones, taking care not to get pricked by the thorns that the wild chestnut has. These others, open, I picked up without fear that they would sting me.
The sun's rays illuminated the fruit I was holding in my palm.
The shade of brown I saw then took me back to my childhood, when I was friends with a girl who had chestnut hair colour.
When we were kids, in the fall, we boys from the neighborhood used to collect fallen wild chestnut fruits on the streets and compare the color of each chestnut with the shade of her brown hair...
As autumn is a fickle season. In an instant, the sunny and clear day changes, the sky becomes cloudy and dark.
Fortunately, there is still no rain...
When I was done with business activities this Wednesday, I walked another round, in the name of Wednesday walk...
a Lovely autumn walk, leaves are falling here now and yes that sound when you walk on leaves and they crunch there is something so soothing about it isnt there
Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk :)
Glad to have found the wednesday walkers community :-)
It's a bit inconvenient for me to walk on Wednesdays during working hours, but I will follow your advice and walk whenever I get the chance, even if I post pictures of the surroundings of the company where I work.
I am pretty easy going and the only rule i have is to only use the Wednesday Walk tag once a week as otherwise I cannot keep up with them all
No problem walking anyday of the week and if possible share your walk on a Wednesday
Deal 😀
