My Actifit Report Card: October 16 2023

Hey Actifitters,

Even though I didn't feel too sore after the race on Sunday, yesterday was mostly about rest. I didn't even make it to 10k steps, I don't even remember when was the last time that had happened. But Kaia needed some yard time of course. That was pretty much the only activities of the day.

I know I mentioned this already. But I'm still puzzled by how different the trees are this fall. Some are pretty much bare already, while others still have their bright green foliage!

Something else in the afternoon was a bit surprising: we were under attack by birds! Hundreds of them everywhere in the trees, on the ground, on the roof...

Even the marmots seemed worried.

They stayed for about half an hour and they were gone. Not sure why.

When we went for another yard walk later, it was much quieter without all these birds. Once again, Le Chat joined us.

She and Kaia could hang out together for a while.

But Kaia also had to suffer through a photoshoot

Her reward was a short walk till the forest entrance behind the front yard.

She wanted to go further in, but she's not ready yet. A few more weeks and she should be good.

So we turned around and went back home. And since it is now our routine, Le Chat greeted us back.

I had noticed something behind the fence though. So after I dropped Kaia back inside, I checked it out:

This big deer was behind the fence, just relaxing. What's crazy is that just before, we were only a few meters away from him with Kaia. Now I know why she kept her nose in the air, clearly catching a scent.

I was able to get really close, but he finally left slowly, eating leaves here and there. Compared to the aggressive one the day before, this deer seemed pretty laid back.

Afyer that, the evening was very mellow, like I said, it's was supposed to be a rest day. I went to bed way too late though, as usual.
