Weekend zombie apocalypse

Of all the apocalypses that have been described in movies or books, the Zombie apocalypse is the most interesting and fun for me.

And that's why I'm going to approach this topic given by @galenkp from the fun (and crazy) side.

The Zombie apocalypse is fun for me because it doesn't scare me.
I cannot watch movies or read books about apocalypses on the topic of viruses, on the topic of large earthquakes, floods, the end of the world...
After the virus epidemic that hit us in 2020, after severe climate changes and floods, storms, earthquakes that have been happening all over the world in the last year (Turkey, Morocco, Afghanistan, Nepal), wars and humanitarian disasters in Ukraine, Israel and Palestine... I do not like or amuse the topics of such apocalypses.

My favorite movies on that topic (Zombie) are: "World War Z" and "Train to Busan".
But since the topic of this weekend is not writing about books and movies with Zombie apocalypses, I will write you one crazy and fictional weekend Zombie experiences story.
All the characters and events in my story are, of course, fictional (except my character and the characters from the pictures), and as support I will call my fictional friends for help. I would not use real characters, either from the present or the past, for a fictional story 😁

My Zombie Weekend Adventure:

Yesterday was Friday.
Last Friday of November.
Black Friday...
There was a strange anticipation in the air... The desire for good discounts, the fear of unfulfilled purchases, the longing for the last piece of clothing, shoes or equipment, which someone bought before you,...
Will this Black Friday be as crazy as and last time on black friday...
My day was hard and tiring. I didn't even have time to research on the Internet what discounts were offered... I couldn't leave work and wait in line to shop at my favorite store.
Phew, because of work and obligations at the computer, I won't breathe the cold November air again and I won't feel the raindrops that fall on my face all day, while I eagerly wait in line outside the store...

I come home from work very late, moderate and grumpy, I don't have the strength and will to go out into the city again, and I decide to go to bed earlier, so that I can wake up earlier tomorrow and go shopping.

I sleep soundly and I don't hear the strange sounds coming from the street... The sounds of police car sirens and the screams of people...
Saturday morning. I'm waking up.
The sky is gloomy, almost black, although it has long since dawned.
I make myself a coffee and turn on the TV. There is no TV signal. I call the cable TV operator, no one answers...
Is it possible that Black friday led to the apocalypse this year as last year?
I turn on my laptop and connect to the satellite internet.
I type the CNN web address and come across Breaking news: "Zombies are among us again"

  • Staying for a long time in the open space, in the queues in front of shops that announced discounts over 70%, all people, inhaled an excessive amount of toxic air and turned into Zombies -

Shit, it happened again...
Zombified people roamed the streets all night looking for 70% discounts... They pushed each other in front of the shops, snatched clothes, TVs and mobile phones from each other's hands...
The discount virus they inhaled for a long time, he drove their brains crazy and they were no longer the same people. They scratched and bit each other, stepped on each other, to push through, to be the first in line when the store opened... To buy something with a 70% discount...

A reporter from the street chimes in on CNN news:
"As the doctors claim, the symptom of the "Sale" virus, turned people who received a higher dose into Zombies. The effect of the virus ends on Monday, when the discount days are over, and everyone who was a Zombie, no matter what happened to them, whether they were shot, run over by a car or trampled in a stampede, lost their heads, arms, legs, in Monday morning, he will wake up alive and well, with a big hangover, like after a big drunk. and he won't remember anything that happened over the weekend..."

Only the bags full of discount goods they brought home will be proof that they worked over the weekend...

Holy crap... is it possible that I'm going to miss out on shopping the weekend after Black Friday again?

No way.

I won't let myself wake up on Monday without anything next to me like last year...
Scared for my life last year I stayed home, I didn't become a weekend Zombie but I didn't even buy myself anything on sale...
I decided, I will arm myself, call my friends and their team and go shopping.

We don't have to stand in lines for a long time and breathe infected air for a long time, it's still better not to become Zombies...
We'll look for stores with discounts up to 50% where the crowds aren't too big...
And if, after buying something for ourselves, they attack us enraged Zombies who were left without their purchases in stores with 70%, we will defend ourselves, even if we shoot them... And they will be as good as new on Monday...

I take the gun and go to the shooting range to practice. I'm doing well, I'm not ready to throw up yet...

I invite my two friends to take care of their infernal crew.

We go to a large shopping center. Frenzied Zombies crowd in front of shop doors at 70%.
We would not enter into competition with them, we choose shops where there is a 30% to 50% discount.

1000010464.jpg

There are no crowds in those stores, and there are no zombies either...

1000010462.jpg

Our weapons remain locked and we throw ourselves into choosing clothes and shoes...
With a wise choice of actions, we bypassed the hordes of Zombies and not a single shot was fired.

I finally had a successful Black Friday shopping spree.

1000009231.jpg

And besides, I didn't get infected by the virus and I didn't become a Zombie. Excellent.
The only question is whether my friends will believe me that I bought all this at a discount of less than 70%.
They probably will, when they find out that I was with the strongest team of Expendables in the shopping.

So here's my crazy made-up story about Xombies... Or Sale frenzy... You decide.
And don't report me to the police for having a gun, I have a proper licence😃

Everything I was write here, as well as the pictures I posted, are mine, except for the picture of the poster for the movie, which I screenshotted from the Internet.

I couldn't write about the illness, there are still fresh memories and great sadness.
Better something like this, fiction 🙂

Not a bad post, a shame you used photos that are not your own though. (The Expendables images.

(Edited)

If I met them (Expendables) somewhere on the street, I would 100% take a picture of them🙂
And what do you say about the pictures of my "Zombies"? I took pictures of them without fear, from close range 😀

That's quite the wild and imaginative take on Black Friday turning into a zombie apocalypse! The creativity in turning discounts into a viral outbreak is unique

I admit, I hit a little harder on Black Friday, but it was necessary to invent how people were infected with the virus and became Zombies. But it coincided, this weekend and this story.
If I hadn't seen the crowd about discounts this weekend and the bombastic headlines "discount over 70%", "almost free" etc., I would probably have invented that the virus "escaped" from some laboratory.
Although that is still a recent experience with Wuhan, so I hate to remind myself.
