November 1st HIVE Power Up Day and the Story of My HP Delegations

Today is a landmark day for me. After 15 years of pain and suffering, it was proven that indeed nothing is too difficult for God. What man cannot change, He can. I tried my best in vain for all those years winning back a lost relationship, and finally, a miracle happened.

I cannot forget October 31st and this day, the first day of November, which happened to be the second last #HIVEPUD this 2023. This is a good way to end my year. I am looking forward to a more productive 2024!

Reformation Day and Guests

Yesterday was a busy day. Almost the entire morning, we celebrated the 506th Anniversary of the Reformation Day.

In the afternoon, I did the Hive thing and in the evening, I was busy cleaning the house. We have guests in our home. It's good that we have four rooms. We were able to accommodate them all.

Preparing for their coming, I did a lot of cleaning and fixing even until this morning. After completing the household chores, I took a bath and went straight here to my office.

My wife and second son will go to the market later to buy food and to pick up the laundry.

Reaching Cub Status in InLeo

Also yesterday, after powering up the 11 $LEO rewards that I received and powered them up, I bought another 50 $LEO and powered them up too. Finally, I reached the Cub status two months earlier than my original deadline. I think it's now time for me to set my $LEO goal for 2024. I was planning to reach the Lion rank with 15,000 $LEO by the end of next year.

First Time to Delegate to Hive DApps Accounts

Another noteworthy development in my Hive journey is the realization of the power of HP delegation. Before this experience, I never delegated to any account except my wife's, my second son's, and the office mate I assisted in signing up for Hive. Unfortunately, until now he seems to be not interested. I was thinking of talking to him first next week if he is still planning to explore Hive. If not, I think I will withdraw the 5 $HIVE I delegated to him and put it instead into something more productive.

The first account where I delegated $HIVE is @zingtoken's. @ifarmgirl brought this upcoming game on Hive to my attention more than a week ago. After doing some reading and asking @acidyo on Discord, I tested delegating 100 HP first to see how it works. I was satisfied with what I saw and so I added 200 more. The following day, I changed my delegation to 1,000 HIVE Power. I currently occupy 152nd place in Zing's Richlist with 690 $ZING tokens:

In the case of the $ZING token, one day after I delegated 100 HP, I immediately saw the delegation rewards.

The same thing happened with my 100 HP delegation to @wrestorgonline.

At present, my $WOO power is more than 106k plus:

Nevertheless, I observe that given the same time frame, the 100 HP delegation has a bigger voice in terms of rewards than 106k plus $WOO Power. I did the math and it made sense. I am impressed with the power of DPOS.

Simply Expressing My Thoughts on Token Maximalism and Perceived Tribalism

Though DPOS is an impressive technology, not many are happy with it. If I am not mistaken, during my early months here on Hive, I stumbled upon some critics who describe Hive as a plutocracy. They don't like the idea that a few hold huge amounts of HP because of the DPOS protocol and the technology being used to hold power over the reward mechanism. They even accused that though Justin Sun had been kicked out, he was simply replaced by someone with his minions but retaining the former's intent. Of course, I am not buying that story.

Being a firm believer in the free market system, I have no problem with huge HP holders. I want to see more of them. However, my concern is once the size of the account is being used to coerce or bully those who own smaller accounts. It's like a Whale overpowering an Orca, and then an Orca a Dolphin, a Dolphin and Minnow, and a Plankton. That might be an imaginary scenario, but I guess you got the point.

From my perspective, a Plankton can be tolerated to brag. A Minnow is still allowed to make noise but I prefer to do it cautiously. In Dolphin's case, it is better to tame his excitement and noise and turn them into a song. I want to hear this creature singing instead. If he can't do it, try poetry; AI can help him just like what it did to me. 😂

I have no word for Orca except silence and humility for Whale.

Related to the above concern, I posted a question on reverio.io about the pros and cons of becoming a maximalist of a specific cryptocurrency. This question was prompted by my recent experience on Reddit and readings on threads and one article. I guess that such a maximalist mindset if not corrected carries with it an emotional bias that makes reasoning difficult.

Tribalism too has this kind of idea that considers all tribe tokens built on Hive as nothing but trash. I explained on reverio.io what I perceived to be the outcome of such a mindset:

This type of tribalism somehow discourages productive discussions and collaboration within the broader Hive community.

Delegating HP to @psyberx

Two days ago, I added 20,000 $LVL, bought 1,000 $PSX, and delegated 100 HP to @psyberx. I am not sure if there is something I missed in reading the $PSX announcement. Unlike my experience with both $ZING and $WOO, until now I haven't received any $PSX delegation rewards. As for the announced "Sustainable LVL Airdrop," I am not sure when will it be implemented. That was the reason why I added 20,000 LVL two days ago. I find the announcement very promising:

Holders of LVL tokens can claim a PSX delegation at a 10:1 ratio, providing lasting support without the ability to sell these tokens. Source

In my plan, I intend to stake the $PSX rewards that I will receive both from holding $LVL and delegating HP to @psyberx.

As for the 1,000 $PSX I bought, it's my first time to have this short-term profit from buying a token before its public sale. Just more than an hour ago, I sold the 1,000 $PSX I bought and gained 4.5 SWAP.HIVE. I just want to experience it so I will have a story to share. I think by tomorrow, as mentioned by @dynamicrypto in his post, both @psx-bank and @psyberx "will initiate buy-backs at 0.015 HIVE."

Powering Up 38 $HIVE

I feel apologetic for my extended diversion from the main story today, which is about $HIVE PUD. Last 01 October, my total HP was 3,035. After powering up 38 $HIVE 48 minutes ago, my total $HIVE Power is now 3,215.385.

I am impressed with the outcome of my HP delegations to both @zingtoken and @wrestorgonline. I think with these delegations, I can accumulate more $ZING and $WOO tokens. I anticipate that the same will happen with $PSX.

Still moving forward to reach my Dolphin goal!

Happy $HIVE PUD everyone!

Grace and peace!

What is Hive?

What is InLeo?
