Greetings bosses and welcome to my post.

It's been beautiful with hive learners and I want to congratulate this noble community for achieving 5k subscribers. I'm happy to be a part of that 5k.

In this post, I will share with everyone a day in the life of a student nurse.

It is not easy being a student nurse, and where the stress comes in quantum is when we go for experience. We are currently in experience at Federal medical center umuahia and I am posted to the Family planning unit of Federal medical center umuahia.

I woke up in the morning feeling a little bit drained due to the stress of the previous day and I felt like staying back home because I was tired. I had to go to work that day due to the fact that I will face a penalty for skipping work and as such, I had no choice but to go to work that day.

I took my breakfast, took my bath, then i dressed up for work.
I don't have a car, so I had to take public transport to work and I got there by 7:53am.

When I got to work, I went straight to family planning clinic and I tried to meditate a little so I can be mentally ready for the day's work.

Goin to work

I meditated for some time, then rushed to the cyber cafe to photocopy a document

In the cyber cafe.

before my senior collegue came to work and we did a morning prayer before we started work.

The matron called us the student inside her office and started lecturing us about the family planning equipments which she mentioned the chemical and mechanical methods of family planning.

Picture above is the hormonal

She went further to talk about barrier methods under mechanical methods is family planning, the she talked about jadel, implanol, and pills under the hormonal method of family planning.

After the lecture, my school lecturer came to check upon us in the unit and I used that opportunity to go for a walk with an excuse of I wanted to ask he about our client care book.

I followed her to another ward calls crowder ward, where she went to collect money from someone who owes her some money.

Me in crowder ward

After that, I went back to the family planning unit, and then we had a case of removal of jadel.

If you look closely to where the arrow is pointing, you will see a Y-like shape, that's where the jadel is implanted.

That was a good scenerio for the staff nurse to teach us, which she did. She taught us with practical on the ways to remove jadel which we observed happily.

After that, another patient came for intrauterine contraceptive device (IUCD) removal, and I got to see the cervix for the first time. I couldn't take pictures because, well, it's someone's private part and I wouldn't want to share that with the world.

I got to learn the removal of IUCD and I was happy for going to work. After that, we did some discussions within our selves and 2pm reached in the blink of an eye. The matron then called attendance and we all left for our respective houses afterwards.

Going back home.
When I got home, I just ate some food I kept them I hugged my bed tightly.

Thank you for reading through.

Apologies if there is any grammatical error, in not good with telling story about anything and as such,I am trying to learn how to.

I hope to see you next time.

A medical student needs a lot of study like you said you are doing nursing course now so you have to work hard and slowly you will understand everything but it will take you a lot of time.
