NAMAL DAM PHOTOS

Namal Dam was built by the British in 1910, the water of this dam used to irrigate three lakh acres of land of Musakhel, Chhadru and Municipal Committee Mianwali. The depth of Nimal Dam is 100 feet, which is now reduced to 20 feet. Now this dam is filled with 80 feet of mud. The thing is that this dam is made of a rocky stone and no cement was used at all, but lime and red clay were mixed to replace the cement. Namal Dam was built by a Sikh expert engineer. This dam is built in a narrow place between two mountains, which connects two mountains together. This dam covers an area of 3000 kanals. The British government bought this area from the people. This dam offers a beautiful view. The silhouette of the mountains and the vertical rocks are very heart-warming.

Our President Ayub Khan visited this dam. Former Governor Amir Muhammad Khan Nawab of Kalabagh accompanied him. He also hunted fowls here. A hundred tons of fish were produced here during that time. The high-class chickens of Russian breed also came here in winter and the hunters of the area enjoyed their hunting. The British also built a bungalow on Namal Dam. What was, called Nimal Rest House. The British Deputy Commissioner used to feel proud to stay in this bungalow during the summer season. Prime Minister Imran Khan has established a Nimal University / College on the banks of this Nimal Lake, which has a degree The University of Bradford is recognized by the UK on its quality.

Imran Khan has also planned to transform the surroundings of Nimal University into a city of knowledge. During the current tenure of PPP, Yusuf Raza Gilani along with Imran Khan made an aerial survey of Nimal Lake. Yusuf Raza Gilani as the Prime Minister of Pakistan had promised that Namal Dam would be expanded and beautified, but that promise could not be fulfilled. It has the capacity to provide water to the area. Now, since the age of Namal Dam has reached 112 years, 90% of the soil is filled in it and only 10% of the water storage capacity is there, so this dam has lost its usefulness. Farmers and landlords across the region are going through a severe crisis. Unemployment is on the rise, if the Chief Minister of Punjab and the head of the federal government, the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the President of Pakistan take special interest and 90% of the soil is removed from this dam or the same mountains below Namal Dam. If a new dam is constructed at a distance of 3 miles, its utility can be extended to a wider area.

It is a stagnant water dam, it has two big streams flowing from 50 miles. Hindi name of one stream is (Tarbi) and the other is (Golar). Also interesting is that Asif Ali Zardari. A (Ghanjhir) dam was approved, the preliminary feasibility report of which was prepared which was to be constructed at a cost of 10 billion rupees, but the work could not be started yet. That a canal was to be taken out of this (Ghanjhir) dam. The surplus water of which was to fall into the Namal Dam and the people of the entire region were to be immensely benefited. The unfortunate thing is that the way the British paid attention to the people of this region, after the formation of Pakistan, any The government did not pay attention to this Namal Dam. Our rulers are not interested in farmers and agriculture.
