My Actifit Report Card: September 1 2023

We have made our very simple and easy-to-practice religion difficult so that our emphasis is now more on belief and devotion and less on practice. Whether there is any increase or decrease in religion, this is an innovation, because Allah completed the religion through Hazrat Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) by saying "Alayum Akmalat Lakum Dinkam". Therefore, whatever you have done, shown or verbally said, that is religion. After that,

any kind of innovation, more or less, will be called innovation, and the person who does this will be accountable to Allah Almighty, because giving religion is the work of Allah Almighty as the Lord, and its delivery to people is the responsibility of the Messenger. Keeping in view, a solution to a newly created situation or problem can be found, which is called Ijtihad, but no change or addition can be made in the religion without any necessity. A few examples will show how religion has been increased. Funeral prayer for the deceased is a prayer for forgiveness and burial is obligatory. There is no swimming, tenth, fortieth and anniversary celebrations in the religion during the lifetime of the Holy Prophet or among the Companions after his death, but we have made them a part of the religion. Now black clothes are also becoming a mandatory part at the time of burial. Likewise, celebrating Urs at shrines was never seen for many centuries. In the same way, many days and rituals have also started to be considered a part of religion, due to which our attention is getting more on these rituals and less on following the actual religious factors, which makes us look Muslim in appearance, but in practice we are not. The Kuros have gotten away with it and are suffering the consequences. We have accumulated something in many areas of life that is not in religion. Not all can be mentioned here. Rituals and days can be a part of regional and national culture and if they are celebrated in the same place, then there is no harm in it as long as they are not against any order of religion. If it is accepted and acted upon, it will be innovation, which is a major sin. That is why it is necessary to have a correct knowledge and understanding of the Qur'an and Sunnah so that the religion is free from such additions. Hadiths should be understood in the light of the Qur'an and Sunnah, because the hadiths do not give any new orders, rather they are a description of how the Holy Prophet followed the orders of religion.
