Wisdom: The Influence of a Godly Mother
A record book, a pen, an offering, and a heart seeking to worship are the things I brought with me as I approach today's public worship.
Since today is a celebration of Mother's Day, Ptr. Ernie shared a message about A Mother's Tools in Building a Godly Family. The message is based on Proverbs 24 verses 3 and 4:
By wisdom a house is built,
and through understanding it is established;
through knowledge, its rooms are filled
with rare and beautiful treasures.
His points are clear:
He points to wisdom as the vertical aspect of this tool
And to understanding, which he described as sanctified strong common sense as the horizontal aspect, and
Finally, knowledge is the firm awareness and familiarity of facts.
He categorizes all these tools as relational.
Though I acknowledge there is a difference between wisdom, understanding, and knowledge, I am inclined to think that these three words describe the same thing. The variations I see are the outcomes attached to them:
Through wisdom, a house is built
Through understanding, the same house is established, and
Through knowledge, the house is filled with treasures.
I love to be reminded how wisdom is personified in the book of Proverbs as a woman. The personification is appropriate and using it to honor mothers today is proper. Just like wisdom, the presence of godly mothers can build a house, grow a family, and fill the house with treasure.
Another interesting insight in the book of Proverbs is that folly is also personified as a woman. An unfaithful woman destroys her family, making it stagnate, and even fills her house with garbage.
I find Ptr. Ernie's application of the insights he shared was interesting. He mentioned investment scams and reminded us of the typical advice that if something is too good to be true, that's a red flag that should make us cautious in our decisions. Such a reminder caused me to think about Hive.
Here at Hive, we don't give people shortcuts to financial gain. What is required here is patience. Hence, we don't promise the "stars" and the "moon." The consistent message is micro-earning and micro-investment, and that would require several years. In my case, I am close to three years here on Hive. Two more years and we will see. God willing, by that time, I will start to see yield from the time and money I invested here on Hive.
