Nothing new here. Just doing the usual thing that I started in January this year, that is, powering up 300 $LEO every month. By the grace of God, I have been consistent so far for 10 months now. I already powered up a total of 3,000 $LEO. I think I will hit that CUB status by December having a total of 5,000 $LEO Power.

Uptober

Last month, many called it Septemburst, and this month I read that many named it Uptober. Perhaps, these names indicate a changing sentiment in the crypto space.

We are now in the middle of the month and many things are happening in the crypto space. Unfortunately, I could not go with the flow of what's going on in Hive except for doing the minimal and common daily activities such as curation, commenting, and reading posts. The last long post I wrote was two weeks ago. It seems that even writing one post per week is a challenge for me now, and that is why I could not move up with the tasks assigned on #Zealy for the ongoing Hive campaign initiated by the #InLeo team.

Government Regulation

I got sick last Tuesday. I think it was because of the pressure on my work particularly in dealing with government agencies. We should have both legal and accounting specialists in this school to process all these things. I am not trained to do this kind of thing and I have little patience in wasting time and resources in unproductive activities. However, the typical culprit or let's say, excuse is that we don't have the funds to pay these professionals.

One good thing that came out when we visited the SEC is that the status of the school has been clarified. As I already shared in my previous posts, we have been applying for amnesty due to the failure of the previous administration to submit the Annual Audited Financial Statements, General Information Sheet (GIS), and other related documents during the pandemic years. I have been receiving repeated emails from the SEC warning us to avoid paying hefty penalties. The commission even wrote us that the penalty could increase by 1,200 % and give us a "last chance" to avail of the amnesty program.

For a small college like us, the natural response to reading messages like the above is one of alarm and anxiety. I asked two people who are familiar with the process about our status and whether I need to submit that form stating that we are applying to lift the "suspension/revocation" of our certificate.

The lady I asked said that we were just non-compliant and that the school certificate had not been revoked or suspended, for if it did, that's something serious and the school has to submit more documents. On the other hand, the man who has been processing our application told me that he also doesn't know our status for it isn't clearly explained on the SEC website. He suggested that better to go to SEC and ask them for clarification in person.

Moreover, I also asked the school Chaplain to assist me for his son is a lawyer. However, his son wasn't available so he referred my inquiry to his nephew who is preparing for a BAR exam. His nephew categorically told him that the school was operating illegally and that the fact that we were asked to submit the above form, meant that our certification had been revoked.

This issue came to the attention of the Board of Trustees (BOT) and since most of them are also not familiar with this matter, they just asked me if there is something they can do to help. I told them that we just need to put a closure to this issue and next time if there are cases like this, they should hire a lawyer.

Furthermore, not only with the SEC, we also have papers to submit to CHED, the Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Department of Education. I didn't anticipate this kind of job. How can I write a research paper for my Ph.D. in this kind of situation? Writing a paper requires an environment that is calm and conducive to reflection. I now doubt if I can continue the post-graduate program that I started.

Sorry, I spent a lot of space with my rant. As for today's #lpud, an hour ago, I powered up 300 $LEO. I now have a total of 4,422.88 $LEO Power.
