For some Splinterland gamers, reaching the higher league is easy for them. In my case, it took me close to seven months to transition from Bronze League to Silver III . And another more or less eleven months to shift from Silver III to Gold III.

Perhaps, you might be wondering why my progress is too slow. Why other gamers took them just a month or two to reach the Diamond League and yet here I am reaching Gold III after more or less one and a half years?

In my case, encountering several stumbling blocks during the early months of playing the game, I decided to settle down only up to Silver III. Though I made an earlier goal to reach Gold III by December this year, I gave it up due to several reasons.

Earlier Obstacles

One difficulty I struggle with is in terms of the Collection Power (CP) requirement. During the early months, reaching 15,000 CP was already a great challenge for me. I thought there is no way I can obtain that 100,000 CP without spending a considerable amount of cash. And so, I gave up achieving that Gold III goal.

Another reason perhaps is the difficulty in adjusting to the changes that affect both the rental market and the incentives. Playing Splinterlands at that time, the incentives you received were lower than the rental fees you were paying. I understand that was just part of the growth adjustment on the part of Splinterland and the development team.

Joining the Guild

However, something happened two months ago. @gadrian, the Co-Leader of the Dark Assassins extended an invitation to join their Guild. I was hesitant at first for I worry that my cards are not ready yet for Brawls.

Facing Gladius’s cards on the battlefield is a great struggle. Gladiators are beasts in the Brawl world. Facing warriors like Quora Towershead, Larissa Kerato, and Isgald Vorst, most likely these gladiators will just eat your fighters. There is no way you can win fighting against them.

And so, during my first few weeks, winning just one or two out of seven or eight battles can already be considered a “great” performance for a new brawler. However, as I accumulate some Gladiator cards, the fight is becoming more even as weeks pass by.

During the last Brawl, I had my highest statistics so far. I won six out of seven battles in the Silver League. My deck is still not that strong and so I have to rely on the rental market to rent higher-level summoners so I can utilize higher-level monsters.

As a reward, I received 20 plus SPS and 2,000 merits. I immediately went to the market and bought a Gladius pack.

Compared to other players, my Collection Power was still too small. After transferring all the cards from the other three accounts to my primary account, still, my CP reached only 80,000 plus. Usually, the CP of players in the Silver League ranges between 300,000 to 500,000.

Maxing Out Cards

So, joining the Dark Assassins Guild woke me up from my slumber. Last night, I was thinking about how can I reach the 100,000 CP for my position to stabilize at SILVER III. Sending 20 HIVE to LeoDex, I purchased 10,000 DEC and I decided to max out the following cards:

I max out three common monsters that gave me 6,300 CP, five rare monsters that gave me 12,075 CP, and one legendary at level 3 giving me 3,000 CP. The total Collection Power added to me was 21,375.

Finally, I reached the 100,000 Collection Power required for Gold III. I reached it even earlier than the deadline I made.

As the current season will reset six days from now, I will no longer sink to the Bronze League. I will climb the next season starting from Silver III.

Originally, reaching the Diamond League is not part of my dream of playing this game. However, everything changed. My next goal is to reach the Diamond III League. I wonder how long will it take this time for me to climb that mountain. I think five to seven months will be too long to achieve this goal.
