Cent Tribe's Crypto Event: Highlighting Pi Network Amidst Hive Slump

@anadolu called my attention to this link. This is regarding the announcement of the first Community Wars and Battles to be held using the InLeo platform. The article mentions some communities that can participate and Cent is included. These wars and battles are weekly and monthly and aim to have daily active participation by the members of the communities. The reward to be received is an increased LEO Power delegation and a free premium subscription.

In response to the call, @anadolu also announced an event for the Cent tribe. He knows that the morale of the Hive community is low due to the drop in the price of the native token back to three years ago. This is not expected by many so the normal reaction of most is to keep quiet and observe. To combat the decline in community morale, the creator of the Cent community thought of creating an event where members of the Cent tribe can share their favorite cryptocurrency outside of Hive. The community member needs to explain why he chose that token.

The rule for joining is to use the #cent tag in the post, whether it's a thread or a long article. The post must be made on the Cent community page and InLeo. The article link can also be shared in the post-promotion channel on Cent's Discord server to receive additional rewards.

So far, the instructions in the two announcements are clear. However, choosing a cryptocurrency outside of Hive was not easy for me. This is because I don't know any cryptocurrency other than HIVE and the Pi. I mentioned in this article that before I joined Hive in August 2021, Pi Network was the first blockchain community I joined. So that means, at that time I had no idea what blockchain was and what cryptocurrency was. My joining the Hive was providential because I didn't plan it. I was looking for a blockchain-based NFT game with a cheap entry price. At that time, Axie Infinity was very popular and an account was very expensive. It is against my trading philosophy to enter a flying stock. This is also my belief when it comes to blockchain-based games. It is our IT who recommended Splinterlands to me and the entry price is only 10 USD. So, I didn't think twice about joining and that was the beginning that I found a hidden treasure that is more than the blockchain-based game that I was looking for, and this is the Hive blockchain network.

When I entered Hive, I was able to compare the characteristics of two networks, Hive and Pi. I realized that although the goal of Pi Network is also decentralization, I can't get rid of the doubt about how they will do it because they have many mechanisms that are against decentralization such as KYC, distribution of 20% of the total token supply to the core team, and the identifiable company behind the Pi Network including its creators. So, if the Pi Network ever gets into legal trouble, the United States government can just easily file a case against the people behind the Pi Network.

Apart from the above, some of the things I don't like about this network are the over-hyping of the price of the token and the fact that until now I don't know of any decentralized apps that are already standing on the Pi blockchain. Unlike Hive, there are over 100 dApps and many other Hive projects are in the pipeline. While some of these dApps are questionable, Hive still has an undeniable edge over Pi.

So based on these observations, it is difficult to justify the high price of Pi Network's token. Of course, anything can happen in crypto. Most of the time, what you don't expect is what happens. It may be thought that I am a hypocrite if I say that I don't want Pi's high price while I have this token that I can say is a substantial number, that is if the 54 members that I formed as Pi Ambassadors can also enter the Mainnet. If not, my "mined" Pi is only around 500 since July 2021.

On the positive side and in response to @anadolu's call, I can say that the things I liked about Pi are the following:

• 10 million KYC'ed pioneers

I don't know how true this is but this is the announcement posted on the official Pi Network channel. If this is true, that is no small number. That is something that makes Pi stand out from other crypto projects. Perhaps the network's mobile app helped boost this number.

• No ICOs

This is emphatically made clear by the creators of the token that there will be no ICO because they do not want the crypto exchanges to set the price of Pi when it comes to the open market. The network is very proud that they already have large communities in countries like China, South Korea, and Vietnam that use Pi tokens in actual transactions. Again, I am not sure if this news is true. This is what I read in the chats and tweets that have appeared on Twitter since 2021.

• Mobile apps

I think the Pi mobile app has helped a lot in growing the number of pioneers. Although we cannot say that these pioneers are committed or they understood what they have entered, we still cannot deny that Pi Network's strategy in inviting new members is unique. I mentioned that I developed 54 members in my team and over 100 in the Facebook group chat I created three years ago.

• Potential capital for Hive

Fourth and lastly what I like about Pi is the possibility that it will give me capital to grow my HIVE Power. When the expected Open Mainnet comes true on June 28 and Pi will have a market price, I will sell 75% of the token I hold to add to my HIVE power.

Perhaps the four things I mentioned are enough why despite my negative view of Pi Network I can still say that it might help me achieve my Hive plan.

So base sa mga obserbasyon na yan, mahirap i-justify ang mataas na price ng token ni Pi Network. Of course, anything can happen in crypto. Kadalasan pa nga, yong hindi mo inaasahan ang siyang nangyayari.
