Grace in the Dark

While listening to music on suno.com, I stumbled upon this emotional Christian rap by jayhenderson187. The title of his music is Man in the Dark.

The message of the song is about men suffering silently. I think this message is very relevant, especially in our time, which views men as strong. I find a portion of verse 1 of the song very personal:

I’m a man in the dark with a hole in my chest
Tryna fight these demons while I’m over-stressed
Everybody see smiles, they don’t see the pain
Don’t nobody hear the thunder when it never rain
I was raised to be strong, never show no tears
Now I’m battlin’ depression, anxiety, fears
Got kids lookin’ at me like a superhero
But inside I feel broken down to zero

The song did not end with suffering. It offers a message of hope where the grace of God meets broken people in their darkest moments. See the concluding verse of the song:

Who smile all day but fight inner violence
The fathers who hurt, the sons who lost hope
The ones one bad day from lettin’ go
God told me speak, so I’m speakin’ the truth
