And the story
continues.
So, after about 4 hours of waiting, the car was ready to move.
My seat was the middle seat. There was one person in the window side, then me, before you get another person.
After the first man entered, I went into the car and I took my seat. As soon as I sat down, I started perceiving a fowl odour. I looked around to see if other people were perceiving what I was perceiving, but there was none. I thought it was just me, so I relaxed. Maybe the gutter is smelling or something.
All passengers entered, and the journey, officially started.
Thirty minutes into the journey, I was still perceiving the same odour. Like dried sweat that has been on a cloth for ages.
This was when I realized that, one of the passengers, was smelling. I almost puked.
I had to stylishly guide my nose, so that they will not know that it's because of them. The breeze from the window made it worst, as it was blowing the odour directly to my face.
I remembered that I have a nose mask, so I used it. Before I did, I was sniffing, go give an impression that I had runny nose.
Now, even with the nose mask on, I was still perceiving this odour. We are a hour into he journey, and I already felt like stopping.
I endured this for a long time. 5 hours into he journey, we decided to stop and take a break. Every body came down from the bus, and I was able to breath fresh air.
After 15 minutes of resting, I talked to the guy, seated close to the window. I begged him to change seats, which he agreed.
The journey continued, but now, I was close to the window, which gave me a lot of relief.
My head was always outside the car. I was like that until we got to Abuja the following morning.
It was a rough experience that I will never want to try again. Thank God that I survived.
