Dan's Two Important Life Lessons
Most times I sot back and get buried under the sands of my own deep thoughts of life. Many things happens in life, people come and people go. The mouth you feed will turn against you for no sensible reason.
In this life I lead, one minute in up and thinking that I am begining to achieve the greatness i desire, but the next minute, I'm low, hoping for a better day and wishing i was never born.
The lessons I which life has to teach us I plentiful. Enormous I must say. However, the path of getting to learn these lessons is full of torns and waves that may claim ones sanity if not properly guided.
I wish we were given a handout of how to navigate the treacherous and difficult path of life when we were born, but no, we weren't. Instead, some of us have both parents, some have one and some have no parents to guide them through life. For some, their parents aren't active in terms of their growth and development.
Looking at this bright, beautiful and blue sky, I can't help it but think - what's the essence of life if we have to ride it's rough and tough tides and instead of being awarded for riding the tides, we die and be buried 6ft deep below ground or be cremated. Is death our reward?
My people have an adage, it is your fellow man that will make things hard or better for you.
For now reason, people love to make things very difficult for other people. Maybe they want to show how big they are compared to the other person, or whatever their motive is, but then, for me, life is way bigger than having my name on the rich and influential list.
I have had many lessons in life. Plenty of them and I know that these lessons are not over yet. I will still learn more.
One major lessons I learnt in life is that - no matter how I panic, my problems will never go away except I do something for it to go away.
I believe in the saying - "this too shall pass," but I don't actually believe in sitting back and hoping for a higher entity to uplift my sorrows. C'mon, I've got a brain, so, I must use it to eradicate my problems.
From the many ugly situations I have found myself in, I have come to understand that panicking solves nothing, instead it wastes time and makes me disorganized.
No matter the situation, a calm mind is way better in providing factual and top notch solutions.
Irrespective of how hard things may be for me, I always try as much as possible to share with the less fortunate.
It got to a point where my friend became angry and called me to talk to me.
He said, "giver, be very careful. Don't let a begger build a house (with what your giving him) before you."
At that point, I didn't understand the advice, but then, when I start seeing some changes, I began to understand his proverb.
He didn't actually want me to stop giving, but the people I thought are less fortunate probably have more money than I do. With the aid of mine, they save theirs and bank on me.
From here, one major thing I learnt is to never be in a hurry to help anybody. Relax, scan, think, and analyze before giving out any penny.
