My Actifit Report Card: November 23 2023

Hey Actifitters,

With a partly sunny weather, a day off for Thanksgiving and of course Kaia now allowed unlimited walking mileage, yesterday was perfect for a long walk to our forest. But before leaving, we checked with Le Chat and without a word, she clearly indicated she'd hold down the fort. Or maybe she just ignored us, who knows?...

Then we made a quick stop behind the front yard

And headed straight to the forest next.

That area with all the fallen trees during the storms a few months ago is still very strange to look at.

Since we had plenty of time, we went to the teepees. This is one of my favorite places in these woods.

Of course, Kaia had to visit. So curious!

She even took a short break.

In the first part of the forest, all the leaves are on the ground, or at the very least completely dried brown and ready to fall. But it's funny how we can still find pockets of green further in.

That creates great contrast with the blue sky.

Have you ever seen a tree like that? It looks like one tree grew inside another one.

Kaia was of course enjoying her newly restored freedom very much, she inspected the entire forest the same way she inspects the yard every day!

I knew that deer liked to hang out near whatever that structure is. Even if you can't see them on that next picture, they were here again.

What about now, can you see it?

They fled, but we found them again a little further. They were at least three, probably a few more I didn't see.

We walked for almost 3 hours! Once again, we didn't cover that much ground. This was obviously not the idea, and I also stopped a lot for photos, especially old mushrooms that I'd like to post in the FungiFriday community. Even if she was tired by the end (she started sitting down or even lying down whenever I stopped for pictures), Kaia never showed any weakness or limping. So good to see!

Like I said, Kaia was very tired by the end, and as soon as we made it home, she went into her crate to rest. With the door opened of course, her crate is her safe place.

That gave me time to work a bit in the house, but I got lazy and not much got done. It's okay, we had a really good day! Enjoying the outdoors and relaxing are what holidays are for, right?
