RisingStar Investment Tips - Cheap RARE Cards to BUY AND HOLD!!

Take a look at these rare RisingStar cards that you can invest; they're TOO cheap considering how much Fans and Skill they provide!

RisingStar Game

If you're not aware of what RisingStar is, in a very brief manner, it's a NFT game based on the Hive Network in which the players are musicians trying to build their own career and shoot to stardom!

In the game, there are a few stats going on, but the most important stats are FANS and SKILL.

image.png

In order to progress in the game, players need to get more FANS: the more fans you have, the better missions you unlock, allowing you to earn more STARBITS (the in-game currency and a 2nd layer Hive Token).

SKILL, in the other hand, is related to a handicapping mechanic called "EGO": the more EGO you have, the less STARBITS you earn per mission. You counter the EGO by raising your own SKILL.

Thus, in the end, to progress on the game and earn more STARBITS, players need both FANS and SKILL.

Cheap RARE Cards to BUY AND HOLD!!

Without further ado, I'll be sharing with you folks this nice spreadsheet that I've built today (22/January/2022)!

image.png

Above we can see the stats and current market price of all the basic Rare cards of the game, from R100 (Pixie) to R139 (Bladesong).

image.png

Above we can see the BEST cards to invest in the game, which means that they're currently costing less compared to the total (Skill + Fan) that they give to the player. Groovy and Rachael both tie together as the best card to invest into, as both cost only 23,64 Starbits per point of Skill or Fan.

Other good, cheap cards to buy are: James, Hetty, Trevor, Benson, Desmond, Dan, DJ Chad, Star Child and Jeeves. All of them are currently costing less than 30 Starbits/(Skill+Fan). Nice deal, isn't it?

These top cards are also usually the most well-rounded cards, which means that they give more Skill AND Fan for their price. A good player is a player with balanced stats!

image.png

If you're just wanting to increase the number of Fans and don't care about Skill, you can see above the best cards to buy.

Lots of cards tie together: Groovy, Rachael, Desmond, Garlic, Rentaw, Sarge, Zapf, Luthien, Drabs, Silent X, Gameboy Ali and Bladesong.

image.png

Finally, if you just want to raise your Skill, disregarding the number of Fans, you should be buying Benson and Dan, both costing less than 40 Starbits/Skill.

Investment Case: Efficient Market Hypothesis

My investment case is simple and based on the Efficient Market Hypothesis.

In an efficient market, all the cards should be costing proportionally the same; eg if Card A gives 10 fans and Card B gives 100 fans, Card B should cost 10x more than Card A.

As we can see, there are dozens of Rare cards in the game, and they're currently with very different prices between them: you can spend only 23,64 Starbits per (Skill+Fan) if you buy Groovy and Rachael, but you'll spend more than 50 Starbits if you buy Butch.

Why would someone buy Butch? They just won't. They'll buy all the Groovy and Rachael from the market.

Do you want to profit? Buy them before anyone else does.

This is definitely NOT financial, legal or investment advice. You wouldn't get your financial advice from a squirrel, would you? Cryptocurrencies are very volatile, so don't invest what you can't afford to lose.
Also, believe it or not, I'm not actually a squirrel! This handsome rodent in my profile picture is a character from 'Conker: Live & Reloaded'. Here's Real Life me!

Great Breakdown and definitely one to consider if you are investing in Rising Stars, sometimes buying singles is better than buying the packs, the same goes with other blockchain games but this one is well compared and well presented, which is so easy to understand. If you are starting or even a veteran in risingstar should consider doing this.

Thanks for the kind words, Ivar. I've been playing RisingStar for the last few months, but just recently I've came to understand exactly how to progress on the game, and what stats players should be focusing on. Thus, I had the idea to create this spreadsheet to see which cards were better to buy.

Unfortunately, this spreadsheet will get old fast as the market changes. It would be great if the in-game or a third-party market would do this kind of analysis automatically, similarly to peakmonsters.com that show the best cards in term of $/Collection Power.

That would be awesome if there was something like that in Risingstars.

Cool strategy
I would love to try this out sometimes but packs are also a good way to go if and only if you have the money for it.
Most people open packs in search for legendary cards.

I usually refrain from opening packs on games as I have bad luck and always end up worse than buying individual cards lol

I created a spreadsheet as well to track prices, but it's quite tedious to update this xD I agree that there should be some way in game to track the optimal cards.

If the game doesn't want to develop this kind of tool, at least a third-party market could.

I didn't know we could buy an individual card on a rising star, always thought it had to be a pack.

You can only buy new cards as a pack, directly from RisingStar. But you can buy/sell them from players, individually!
