Hello world and Weekend Community!

  • Thoughts about this weekend's subject
Another weekend came and brought to us another challenge from the community of The Weekend! In the previous challenge, I didn't manage to attend because my exams at the university kept me busy but since I discovered this amazing community I tried to keep in touch! I highly recommend to anyone that doesn't know what I am writing about to check here, and see on your own the quality entries from the other Hiveians and the amazing work from galenkp who promotes the Hive platform always with an incredible way! To be honest these challenges always motivate me to think and make a conversation with my girlfriend about the theme that I am calling to discuss! This week's theme I really loved it from the start and made me think of an intriguing story!

Option one : The Island Paradise

In the beginning, I would like to say that I couldn't decide on which subject I liked more so I choose to go with the first option! The truth is that I wanted to explore the other subjects but I couldn't quite fit option three "elimination"! The reason is that the people I want to accompany me in this exile are the figures that changed my mindset with their legacy! So it is hard to eliminate the people that have that impact on your life. To be totally honest too I don't think that I would dare to go through that temptation because there is no right answer and definitely all the people who passed from this planet even the worst of them teach us a lesson! Maybe the lesson that gave to us was in a very ugly or beautiful way but the hard truth is that we learned from that like as humans and individuals!

After this philosophical monologue, let's get into the action. Let's look at it one step at a time, the first thing we need to settle is which people are going to accompany me in this long isolation! The first figure from the past that I would love to meet and just observe is Leonardo Da Vinci! I could easily just stop here because this man in my eyes is the finest man ever lived on this planet, and surely I think that just an hour of conversation with this man would make me think for days about the perspective we see and feel the environment around us! For those few who don't know Leonardo da Vinci, he was an Italian polymath, this kind of person doesn't exist nowadays or it's very rare to find one. In order to understand that we need to review what he did in his life. He became famous for his paintings and his notebook, where we found groundbreaking ideas in many scientific fields such as anatomy, astronomy, botany, civil engineering, hydrodynamics, geology, optics, tribology, cartography, and paleontology. One thing that fascinated me was that he never had academic education and the understanding of how things work and natural laws were a natural gift for this amazing man! Also, this choice has a practical meaning behind the obvious intellectual benefits, he would be an excellent help to build our own accommodation!

The second person I would like to have in my company is Tom Waits, yeap I changed the mood very quickly but before you judge me I want to say to you that five years is a lot of time without good music! So who is better to express all the sorrow and the emotions we are going to feel for the first years other than Tom Waits!? Also, I want to ask the rulemaker @galenkp if is he allowed to take his 1942 Gibson ES-150 with him! It's a very essential asset of the journey along with 2 barrels of Single Malt Whiskey! If any of you don't know who Tom is I would like to present you one of the most unique musicians, composers, songwriters, and actors. He makes a unique genre of music that has influences from Blues, Gospel, Jazz to musical theatre, etc. I will not dare to approach his music and his legacy, the only way to understand what am I writing about is to experience his music! So go listen to some of his songs and I would be happy to discuss them in the comments!

For my last pick, I struggled a lot because I had so many people from the past and the present that I wanted to include and have a chance to meet in person but my animal instinct doesn't let me! So I have to choose a specialist in this extreme and unwelcoming environment. I want to be honest here and tell you right away that I didn't know anyone from this category of people so with a little help from the internet I found some candidates. The majority of them are TV personas so I am not sure if I want my survival on this island to depend on these guys! But I don't have an option here so after hours (maybe minutes :P) researching I concluded Dave Canterbury. I think it's a solid pick for our team and definitely is going to help a lot with our independent living. If you have better suggestions on this spot I am willing to hear you!

I can't speak from the other's perspective but I would enjoy this scenario, and I think I like the idea of living outside of the ordinary even if it was all in my fantasy! I'm really looking forward to seeing all the entries for this post because I think that the people that would like to have with us reflect our personality at the very end! I hope all of you had a great weekend with a lot of fantasy and creativity!

Oh...to have dinner with Leonardo Da Vinci would be so incredible and life changing for me! A simple 5 minutes of sharing a salad with him would bring such great enlightenment and awareness of the world around me.

He is certainly an indispensable guest to have on your island paradise list.

Also, about the thing you said

I think that the people that would like to have with us reflect our personality at the very end!

I chose Adolph Hitler as a guest for my dinner in the Option 2 topic.

So what does that make me? :) Hehe...

Such an amazing man indeed, one of his kind and I can't think of anyone who can relate with him! I'm glad you liked my post!
Hahaha, there is a reason you picked him but I can't really tell! I will check your article for sure!

Quite a nice team you got there! I would have chosen Tom Waits as well, but I'm worried we might lose our supply of Whiskey quite quickly :P

Why did the art thief's vehicle run out of fuel?
He had no Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh
