Shelby Monaco King Cobra
Is a series (6) racing cars developed in the 60’s America, based upon the British built Cooper T61 Monaco chassis/bodywork, but with the original mid-mounted Coventry Climax 4-cyl 2.0litre engine replaced by a Ford 4.7litre (400hp) V8 with a 5-speed manual transmission.
A later (1967) Can-Am (T10) version was also produced with a more powerful 5.8litre (520hp) V8. Only two cars were produced.
Cooper-Lang Monaco II Super King Cobra
A one-off Can-Am car built in the mid 60’s on a Monaco chassis, bodywork by Peter Brock (De Tomaso P70) and powered by a mid-mounted SB Ford 4.7litre V8. Campaigned under the Shelby American team banner but maintained by the Lang Racing team.
