West African military chiefs have announced they have a plan in place in case of a possible intervention in Niger. The plan was discussed at the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) meeting in the Nigerian capital, Abuja. ECOWAS is a regional bloc comprising 15 West African countries, and its leaders are concerned about the security situation in Niger.
