It Was A Terrible Experience With The Police In My State
Good day my lovely friends, hmmmm it's been a long time I participated in contest here. I so miss all of you. Hope you have been having a nice time?
In my country we always say when a Soldier slaps you then you understand that Police is your friends. For me, Police is not my friend and I don't like associating with them so much because of their corrupt practices. The person that change my conviction towards the Police is a friend of mine, I met this friend before my undergraduate days, he was so kind to me and he cared so much about my progress. While I was preparing to write JAMB, he helped to coach me and I did so well in that exams. He is also a barrister, after many years i called to know how he was doing surprisingly he told me that he is serving in my state, infact the Police command close to my house immediately I didn't hesitate to tell him that we have a case there.
Well, his interest grew when we met and explained the matter to him. Our neighbour, was a troublesome one. When she moved into the compound we so love her children because they were still small, so we love small children but things turned out soar when she began to bahave funny. Can you imagine a woman we not only take her children in both in care and feeding them but also in coaching them in academic studies just came one day to say my brother stole money from her House. My Mom had earlier warned that we should stay away from her house, so how manage?
This is how the Police came between us. She ordered for arrest and my two brothers were picked. See my dismay, instead of the Police to carry out a good investigation they decided to take bribe in order to cover up the woman's lies. That was when I encountered this my friend I told you about earlier. Now immediately they noticed that we now had an insider the IPO handling this matter was changed shortly that my friend was transferred out from there not only for our case but because he stands for the truth.
This matter was ended in the court it was beyond the Police. I will be delaying you if I will have to give you the details, this matter ended in our favour. There are still some of our properties with the Police which they can't trace but due the fact that we don't need further issue from them we decided to let it slide.
How I wish the military will take it up to themselves to do what is right because that's the main reason they were instituted because many citizens rights are being trapped upon.

I don't really know if the police all over are the same, but I have stopped trusting the police because of their corrupt attitude.

A lot is going on in this world, not everyone will pay you back with good after you give them good.
Normally police will claim everyone is a suspect except proven to be innocent. I wonder how big the money she claimed is that she could involve the police and even push it further to the court.. well that's a big lesson for your brothers. Glad it ended in your favor.
Do you know shortly They came to our house through the window and made away with our valuables including my new laptop....all will be well someday.

I knew they would have to send him away. That’s the problem with police. The good ones among them are not much but the bad once trampled upon the image of all police making them corrupt officials.

That is yhe kind of system we find ourselves. What could be done for this bad eggs to be dealt with?
Their dishonest practice for personal gain is one thing that would make a country worst if not curbed. The major aim of the force is to promote humans and prevent crimes instead they are the one instilling the crimes. It's pathetic, good thing the case was later handled on court.
This is a general issue we face on a daily basis, we all wish for a positive change someday.

Just the thought of corrupt policemen makes me sad. I'm so lucky to live in a country with police who are actually out to serve the population. As for the army, well, we never see them.....well, almost never I've seen an army vehicle once or twice in the past 20 years.
