The Baby Ladyverse Is Opening a New Archive on MemeHive

Today I’m beginning something new for the Baby Ladyverse.

We already have a growing NFT collection on TON through GetGems, where different Baby Ladies, characters, worlds and moments from across the Baby Ladyverse can exist as individual pieces.

But when I decided to begin minting Baby Lady NFTs directly on MemeHive, I didn't want to simply recreate the same collection on another blockchain.

If these NFTs are going to exist on Hive, they should have a reason to exist here.

And that led me to a different idea:

The MemeHive Archives.

Two Collections, Two Different Purposes

The Baby Ladyverse collection on GetGems/TON will continue exploring the wider universe we are building.

That is where you can expect different Baby Ladies, alternate realities, characters, environments, lore and pieces connected to the expanding Baby Ladyverse.

The MemeHive collection will be different.

Baby Ladyverse: The MemeHive Archives is intended to preserve characters, ideas and moments that become part of Baby Lady's actual history on Hive and MemeHive.

Think of it less as another gallery and more as a historical archive.

Some pieces may represent a character with a recurring role in our content. Others may commemorate something that happened within the community. Some may preserve an idea, story or period in the development of Baby Lady on Hive.

And every NFT will remain a 1/1.

#001 — Keeper of the MemeHive

The first NFT is Keeper of the MemeHive.

Deep inside the MemeHive lies an immense archive where digital culture, community memory and the stories of the internet are preserved within an endless golden honeycomb.

Baby Lady stands as its young Keeper — guardian of the artifacts, ideas and histories carried forward by the communities that created them.

The symbolism behind this piece is important to me.

So much of internet culture is temporary. Communities appear, platforms change, accounts disappear and things people spent years creating can eventually become difficult or impossible to find.

The MemeHive Archives imagines the opposite:

A place where those fragments of digital culture are kept.

This NFT also represents the Baby Lady associated with our Baby Lady presence on Hive, connecting the character we originally brought from TON with the new history being written here.

And appropriately, she became NFT #001.

#002 — Keeper of Living Stories

The second NFT has a different significance.

Keeper of Living Stories depicts the version of Baby Lady I use for the educational essays published through my Greywarden content.

If you have watched those videos or seen their thumbnails, you have probably already seen her.

She isn't simply a Baby Lady variation created for an NFT.

She has a job.

She is our storyteller.

In the artwork, Essay Baby Lady stands inside the Hall of Living Stories, holding a glowing ancient book.

Behind her is an enormous Story Engine — part celestial clock, part archive and part decentralized information network.

Ideas emerge from the book and travel throughout the archive.

The Hive emblem appears within one side of the architecture, while the MemeHive beehive appears on the other.

The idea is simple:

A story told today can become part of the cultural memory of tomorrow.

That is also what I want the educational essays to accomplish.

They explore subjects such as history, technology, digital culture, communities, memes, permanence and digital civilization.

This Baby Lady is the character who carries those ideas.

Because she is a recurring character in actual published Baby Lady content, I value this NFT considerably higher than #001.

That will also be part of the philosophy behind the collection.

NFT numbers alone won't determine value.

Significance will.

A character or artwork with an important place in Baby Lady history may be listed considerably higher than another piece.

And There Is Another Part to This Experiment: Burning MEME

There is one more rule I want to establish for these NFTs.

MEME received from sales of my Baby Lady NFTs will be burned.

I don't want the MemeHive Archives to exist simply as a mechanism for me to accumulate MEME from collectors.

Instead, when one of these NFTs sells, the MEME I receive from that sale is intended to leave circulation permanently.

For example:

Imagine someone eventually purchases Keeper of Living Stories — Essay Baby Lady — for 100,000 MEME.

I receive the 100,000 MEME from the NFT sale.

Those 100,000 MEME will then be burned.

The NFT passes from my collection into somebody else's.

The MEME used to purchase it does not simply become another balance I hold.

It is removed from circulation.

And when burns occur, I want them to be transparent. The relevant blockchain transaction can be shared so that the community can independently verify what happened.

This turns each successful Baby Lady NFT sale into two events:

A piece of Baby Lady history gains a new owner, and the MEME received from that sale is permanently burned.

Why Do It This Way?

Baby Lady has never interested me simply as an image or a token.

Over time it has become a much larger experiment in storytelling, community, digital culture and permanence.

Hive and MemeHive introduced another dimension to that experiment.

Now we can publish stories here.

We can preserve long-form ideas here.

We can build community here.

We can create NFTs here.

And those different pieces can actually interact with one another.

The MemeHive Archives can preserve the characters appearing in the stories and videos we create, while NFT sales can simultaneously contribute to reducing the circulating MEME supply through burns.

It gives the collection its own identity.

And that is important because I don't want the MemeHive NFTs competing with or replacing our TON collection.

They complement one another.

Two Archives of the Same Universe

The distinction I keep coming back to is this:

GetGems preserves the Baby Ladyverse.

The MemeHive Archives preserve its history on Hive.

One can explore the enormous fictional universe surrounding Baby Lady.

The other can become a record of what Baby Lady actually built, created and experienced within this ecosystem.

Years from now, if this experiment succeeds, I would love someone to be able to look through these NFTs chronologically and see more than a collection of beautiful images.

I want them to see a history.

The characters we used.

The stories we told.

The ideas we explored.

The communities we met.

The moments that mattered.

And perhaps even some pieces that nobody wanted to let go of.

The archive has begun.
