Preparing wood for the heating season

Everyone who lives in the city, in an apartment connected to a central heating system, knows the exact date of the start of the heating season when winter approaches.
Those who live at house and heat themselves independently, can decide for themselves when to turn on the heating.
If there are any doubts about the start of heating, the owner of the house can determine the start of the heating season with the start of the heating plant, which heats the surrounding settlements and cities...

I live in an apartment, but I also have a cotage, which we heat with wood.
We are not often there to install some floor heating with electricity (we don't have gas as an option).
I don't need a view of the heating plant, as soon as the temperature drops below 18°C, heating starts 😀

And in order to be able to warm house over the winter, it is necessary to prepare wood for the heating season.

Since I don't have time for these activities on weekdays, I can only dedicate myself to work around the cottage on weekends.
So this week (sunday), I got up early in the morning and drove to the cottage.
I sawed the wood, split it into smaller pieces with an ax, packed it in the pantry. Closed the water in the water shaft and drained it from the installations, in order to avoid bursting of pipes or installations...

And not that I just worked all day, I also took a little walk in nature, took some nice pictures...

When the sun began to set below the horizon, we retreated to the house, with a built-in fire, drank coffee and sweetened ourselves with baked pumpkin that was baked in the stove while we had activities outside the house.

In short, when you have a weekend house, you spend half the day working on its arrangement, and the other half you enjoy it.
