Plush toy to help vulnerable children
I'm not a fan.
I do not support groups of the same who make riots in sports halls, stadium stands or on the streets before and after games.
OK, I like to watch a basketball game, but not in the hall, but from the armchair.
But this time I'm sorry that I didn't personally witness the event...
On Thursday, 28.12. in the match played (and lost) by the Belgrade Partizan against Virtus, the Partizan club, in agreement with its sponsor, decided to organize a charity event and invite its fans: "Let's make the little ones happy together! Bring a plush toy and throw ot onto the field when the song starts". For each toy entered, the NIS company will donate 1,000 dinars (9e) for the purchase of winter clothes and shoes for socially disadvantaged children. Let's brighten up the children's holidays together!"
Partizan fans responded to the invitation of the Partizan basketball club and brought a large number of plush toys to the Euroleague game against Virtus Bologna and threw them onto the field before the start of the match.
As reported, more than 10,000 toys were found on the field.
When I saw this news, I was very proud of my fellow citizens who responded to the action.
While in some parts of the world, rockets and shells fly over the heads of the inhabitants and fall on buildings, hospitals, schools, killing children, women, the elderly and the same population, over the heads of my neighbors plush toys flew over the basketball court.
I am glad that the Belgrade club organized this action and that the most socially disadvantaged categories of children will be happy with the gift they will receive before the new year.
The pictures are not mine this time (I took pictures from the TV), because I was not in the hall, but I wanted to share with you a part of the atmosphere from last night in mybtown, Belgrade.
