PG BeerAcademy and six pints of beer for 355 week #BeerSaturday challenge

Last Wednesday, while I was enjoying the specialties of Podgorica cuisine and wonderful homemade sausages with a pint of Nikšić beer, which I already wrote about, the #BeerSaturday contest was in my mind..

I'm afraid I'm becoming a fanatic and a big fan when it comes to craft beer and breweries.

I looked at the craft breweries in Podgorica on the internet and found that near the restaurant where we are sitting there is a brewery called "PG Beer Academy".

Since I belong to academic citizens, I decided to visit that beer academy🙂

PG Beer Academy, is actually a small real home brewery.
In the area where guests are served, there are large tanks for brewing beer next to the bar.

I managed to peek into the space behind the bar and see additional equipment, but the entrance to that part of the space was only for employees.

Apart from the pictures of part of the production area, all that's left for me is to look for the menu and try some of their beer.

Try some and not every beer they produce.

But what to do when someone wants to try everything they have to offer.
I found an interesting offer in their menu.

1. Beer colloquium,
2. Beer master and
3. Beer doctorate,
   depending on the seniority of the beer academics, so is the menu. are you a beginner student, are you a final year student or a PhD student, what is your capacity, what is the offer...

Given that the brewery offers six types of beer that they brew, these menus have and you can notice the difference: 0.2l, 0.3l, 0.5l offer.
It is not the same to drink six times 0.2 l, six times 0.3 l or six times 0.5 l.
Only real beer doctors will dare six times 0.5l 🙂.

Considering that I came to the brewery from lunch, where I had already drunk a large beer, I decided to choose six times 0.2l in order to try their entire offer.

It's my luck that I didn't decide on one of the stronger packages. six different beers on top of the beer I had already had made me very drunk.

But I can say that I successfully passed the beer colloquium.

And what does the Podgorica Beer Academy have to offer?

Brat Dekan (Brother Dean)
Oktoberfest 5.5% alcohol was created as a mix of traditional German Oktoberfest hopped with American hop varieties. the combination of German tradition and Podgorica creativity gave a beer that has a balanced refreshing taste and slightly medium bitterness.

Professor Hopppss
Pale Ale with 5.6 alcohol refreshing beer dominated by tropical and fruity aromas. the combination of specific types of hops such as Mosaic, Amarillo and Coscace resulted in a beer with mild floral, citrus notes that take us directly to the tropics.

Professor Doctor
IPA with 5.9% alcohol Podgorica IPA is brewed with three types of hops, rich in citrus and fruit aromas. it is a beer characterized by its fullness of taste, which releases all the senses at the first sip. This IPA is here to show how fruity aromas can be and how they can be suited to a beer.

Vrhunski magistar (Top magister)
Lager beer with 5.1% alcohol.
It is a lager with a rich malt flavor and rich bitterness of Czech and German hop varieties. perfectly made beer with a refreshing taste. at first sip you know this is the taste a lager should have.

Čista desetka (Pure ten) - Weisbeer, beer with 5.7% alcohol. A Hefeweizen style of beer with a symbolic fullness of flavor and banana aroma obtained from the use of a specific type of yeast. it is prepared without hops, medium carbonation and without bitterness. the perfect balance of fullness and freshness. Mutton beer perfect for enjoyment.

The sixth pint is the brewery's seasonal beer, IPA style with the addition of fruit flavor, quite refreshing and tasty beer.

This was my beer academy adventure for the #BeerSaturday challenge for week 355.
After drinking the smallest package from the brewery's menu, we barely made it to our hotel.
But still, I didn't forget where I was and what beers I tried, so that I can share the experience with you in the #Beer community.
