One weekend day at the spa

We spent the past weekend in an atmosphere of celebration.
Since September 16 is my father&mother-in-law's wedding anniversary, we had to find a suitable gift.
We agreed that for their golden wedding, their 50th anniversary, we must organize some unique event, and that we should also be participants and have a little fun with them.
We decided on a gift trip to one of the largest spas in Serbia, Vrnjacka banja. We looked for a nice accommodation, made a reservation and started preparing for that unforgettable weekend.

Saturday Early in the morning, we packed into the car and set off.

The spa is really much tidier than our last visit.

Some new hotels have been built, cafes have appeared that additionally complement the arranged set list.

When we checked into the hotel (the newly renovated Hotel Emilija) and toured the complex, since it was cloudy, we didn't use the pool, but immediately headed to the center, to the promenade, to drink coffee in one of the bars.

We saw a new bar, climbed up to it along the path that passes by artificial waterfalls, ordered our drinks and enjoyed the view.

The cafe where we sat is adjacent to the Open Air Theatre. It is an open-air amphitheater with plenty of seating.

After refreshing ourselves in the cafe, we continued walking along the inlets and the promenade and enjoyed the sounds of the stream that flows under the numerous bridges.

One of the most visited is the Bridge of Love, on which couples in love place a padlock to seal their love.

Naive, but very nice looking. Considering the amount of additional metal, I'm worried about the stability of the fence of that bridge :-)

Another attraction of the Vrnjacka banja is the Japanese Garden complex, built as a donation by the Japanese government.

Unfortunately, the pond that exists there was empty, so the impression of the park is not what it was a few years ago.

Tired of walking around, we looked for a sweet shop where we could have something sweet.

I ate my favorite sweet, a sugar bomb, Šampita.

This was followed by a search for a restaurant in which to formally celebrate the anniversary.
We found a restaurant that has live music and is close to our hotel, since we didn't go by car (even if you've had a little to drink, you shouldn't get behind the wheel).

We had an excellent dinner in the restaurant (lamb roast under the sač). The band that performed the hits of folk music made our stay in the restaurant memorable.

We danced and sang deep into the night.

To be continued... with Sunday's post...

It is wonderful the gift you planned for the golden wedding of your in-laws. The spa town is beautiful without equal, every detail you relate is incredible, the city view is combined with nature. I love reading you.

I have seen in many European cities that couples in love put padlocks, and this bridge in Vrnkačka banja, which is called the Bridge of Love, is the right place for that.
I'm glad you like the photos, there will be more...
