Old Δinarot
I could write a lot about the topic OLD given to us by @friendlymoose, maybe it would be enough just to look in the mirror and see an old head π
But no, I'm not going to lie, I'm still not ready to throw up yet.
I decided to write about an old tree that I saw when I was in Ohrid, Macedonia.
However, an interesting story goes with this tree, and the tree is old enough to be in the topic OLD .
In the middle of the Ohrid Promenade, which is named after the first Slavic Bishop, St. Clement of Ohrid, there is a wide square.
And in the middle of the square, the Δinarot tree.
This name is not a mystical name, it is just a name in the Macedonian language :-)
This is the most famous and oldest tree in Ohrid and beyond, which has its own page on Wikipedia.
According to legend, the tree was planted by Saint Clement of Ohrid himself, and its age is estimated at 1100 years.
The last 20 years. the tree suffered great damage, and in 2012, the weight of the falling snow broke off a large branch of that tree and it lost its former appearance.
The width of the hollow tree was previously 3 meters, and the tree reached a height of 18 meters.
Hundreds of years ago, until today, all roads in Ohrid led to this tree.
Generations of Ohrid residents rested in its shade, and in some period, the hollow of the tree was used as a tavern and as a pastry shop.
When in 1967 this tree was declared a natural monument, it started to be taken into account, however, the influence of nature permanently damaged its appearance.
This is still a living tree, the only question is how many more years it will leaf and whether it will live another year, decade or century...

Thank you for stopping by my post and I hope you enjoyed the photos and the story I shared with you

It's the tree with the largest trunk I've ever seen. Nature reserves wonders like this for us, it is incredible that after more than a millennium it continues with that force so that its leaves continue to sprout. I am happy to know that it is protected and cared for, I hope that many more generations will continue to know about its existence. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story. π€
thank you dear @palomap3 for your support.
When I saw this antique, I was delighted with the information on the board, but even more so when I find some old pictures, how the trunk of the tree looked before it was damaged.
A miracle of nature.
I have never seen live a Baobab tree that has a diameter of up to 9m or a sequoia tree that grows over 100m in height and has a diameter of 12m, so this specimen (in the region where I live) was very interesting to me.
Ohhh thank you so much for this photo!! Amazing!! I thought it was a restaurant that was too small in that space. I didn't think it surrounded the trunk. π€£π€£ I love old photos.β€οΈ !LUV

Aha! Then you are similar to me. We like to investigate more about what catches our attention. We are not satisfied with the typical tourist signs. π
I like it the most when I have access to the Internet, to immediately research more details about what I see, but as I usually don't, because the Internet is too expensive in roaming, I take a picture and research later. through research, I get to know the facts about what I saw. How and when something was created, why, for whom, who paid, who destroyed it. It wouldn't mean anything to me to see something beautiful and not know anything about it.
π Keep Up the good work on Hive β¦οΈ π

Damm This tree was there before America π³π³πππ
It was in America before Columbus' foot set foot on the ground π
If you think of America as a country, then I can tell you that it is not a very good rapper for comparing π
Yesterday, someone posted a picture of the Tower in Pisa. It was built from the occasion when this tree was planted, in 1065. It's a good example of defining age, millennium as the standard.
Wow, the tree is the oldest thing I've seen right now π³π
