My Favorite Podcast, Weekend-Engagement topics: WEEK 196

Since 2004, after the term Podcast was established, which Oxword proposed as a word in 2005, the development of podcasts in the world started slowly.

Only after a whole decade, in 2015, the podcast received more attention in the world and in the next 3 years, until 2021, from 500 thousand, the number of recorded episodes will grow to 30 million.

In those years, a podcast, produced by "Kažiprst" and "Pesčanik", entered the media space of Serbia through the back door.

To date, we have an expansion of this broadcast format.
Podcasts are listened to via Spotify, watched via Youtube.
Some of the most heard/viewed are:

Remarker
Podcast Remarker encourages debate on social issues, analyzes facts, examines the phenomena of contemporary society, defends democracy, freedom of expression and the right to criticize, informs and educates new generations, encourages the use and development of new technologies in the field of media.

Galaxy
A podcast that promotes and popularizes science. The topics that Galaxy deals with are from the fields of astronomy, physics, biology and related branches of science and technology, but also from the history and philosophy of science.

Into the microphone
As part of the "Into the Microphone" podcast, journalists conduct interviews with interesting and expert interlocutors who provide answers to current political and social issues.

Letters from Disneyland
Through this podcast, two presenters offer listeners a weekly overview of social events in Serbia and the region.

Find out and discern
The podcast investigates and exposes fake news and misinformation in Serbia and beyond.

Sian MacLeod, the British ambassador in Belgrade, expresses her opinions on diplomacy, diplomatic life and diplomats in her podcast.

React
is a podcast of the Independent Association of Journalists of Vojvodina that deals with democracy and the life of small and smaller communities. It asks questions about the realization of the rights of citizens at the local level, brings stories about solidarity and cooperation, as well as about the changes that those communities fought for. The mission amplifier of the podcast is the education and motivation of entrepreneurs, and those who want to become one.

Technopolis
a podcast that has topics from society, technology and media...

Bubble online
it is a project that was one of the symbols of the former Radio B92.

Sting of Culture
The podcast hosted numerous personalities from the world of film, theater and music, but also some young people who are just emerging in these fields.

Said and kept silent
The show, which has existed for many years, was transferred from radio format to podcast format, for easier monitoring and listening. The topics are the most diverse. From the state of theater today, political correctness in cartoons, tourism in a time of crisis, to styling in public performance and reduced working hours and its impact on productivity.

Business stories
The podcast takes us into the world of business brings conversations with people from different spheres of business today. The guests are some of the big entrepreneurs and company owners to the directors of small and medium-sized companies, as well as people with a strong sense of business.

And my favorite is Agelast, edited and directed by a guy with an interesting appearance and even more interesting stories, Galeb Nikačević.

Agelast
"The oldest story in the world is a myth about a search. Since man has existed, he searches. The search can be spatial, but the search can also be internal. We search for happiness, for identity, we search by trying to answer many questions. Through conversations and travels , this is my search, my attempt to escape from meaninglessness".

Galeb Nikačević Hashi-Jare (born in 1982) is a Serbian journalist, presenter and podcaster.
From a diplomat father of Somali origin (who died when Galeb was only three years old) and a Serbian mother, he came to Serbia under the guardianship of his uncle.
He works as a journalist for TV Metropolis, as a presenter of MTV Adrija, the face of MTV in the Balkans and for Bravo magazine.
The editor of the VICE portal, the editor of the Noizz portal, started his Agelast podcast in 2019.

In the past three years of its existence, Agelast has gained popularity very quickly and brought the podcast format closer to many who had not followed its podcasts until then. The author and presenter, Galeb, in a good mood talks to the guests, whose professions range from musicians and actors, to athletes, journalists, photographers and writers, doctors, adventurers, reporters...
So far he has hosted over 130 guests on his podcast.
Among the most watched episodes (and my favorites are with Jovan Memedovic and Rambo Amadeus).
Thanks to the podcast format, I was able to watch more of Galeb's podcasts, both entertaining and informative.

There are stories about geopolitical topics (Ukraine, Israel, Gaza), sports events, races, victories and defeats... He hosted the man who conquered Mount Everest, the owner of the first crypto exchange in Serbia, the team working on the development of AI, fellow journalists, writers, musicians, adventurers, doctors and psychologists who talked about the state of the nation after the tragic events of the mass murders in the elementary school.

Each podcast is very interesting and dynamic enough to hold attention, the only "flaw" is the duration, sometimes over 3 hours, but with the possibility that podcasts provide, they can always be watched on Youtube.

〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
I like to watch and listen to podcasts because they have become the only way where today a person can be informed about various topics.
On televisions with national frequencies, there are no longer informative shows, educational shows, entertainment shows, music shows... Everything has been transferred to the channels of cable operators...
Televisions with national frequencies are used by the current government in Serbia for its promotion and manipulation of the masses.

So the internet and these podcast shows are often the only bright spot of truth in the media space, where we can see the real state of society and the country in which we live. and in this place we can find what we are most interested in... so let it be fun, if we so choose, so be it... Similar to Hive, by selecting communities 🙂
