Black Ale (Porter) Kabinet
Thanks to the #BEER community and these #BeerSaturday contests that detlev gives us, I'm slowly re-entering the world of beer, which I've avoided for years, in an attempt to maintain my weight and waistline.
But no, I will not drink large quantities of beer, I will focus on tasting several different beers in smaller quantities, preferably craft beers, because I haven't drunk a lot of them so far.
Searching the internet, I find a recommendation from the local brewery Kabinet, for their Porter black beer.
Kabinet Brewery, Porter is an old English style of beer, which was a favorite among dock workers during the Industrial Revolution in Great Britain. It is a dark brown beer, defined by fine aromas of dark semi-roasted malt and red fruit. The taste is based on pleasant tones of dark semi-roasted malt, raisins, coffee, but also red fruit. This is an ideal beer for all lovers of the taste of coffee, dark chocolate and marzipan, so it is suggested that this beer be consumed with some strong chocolate cake.
I find it in a larger market, cool it to the recommended temperature and the tasting can begin.
After pouring the beer, I was surprised by the very dark color of the beer, almost black.
When it is turned towards the light, it is seen to be dark brown, and on the side of the glass where the light shines through, the color turns ruby. Phenomenal color for dark beer.
The color definitely suits the porter style.
The foam is a finger and a half thick, brownish in color, leaves a nice mark and fits well.
It smells like chocolate and coffee. At the first sip, you can feel the taste of coffee and caramel. There is also a slight taste of smoke. A little bitter but less carbonated, it is extremely drinkable. You can feel a little roasted malt, as well as its sweet aroma.
Alcohol 6.2%
Serving temperature 5 °C

Thanks 🙂
Looks so smooth and velvety ❤️
It is smooth, since it is not very carbonated, it is very drinkable.
But considering the strength, you should take care how many bottles are drunk smoothly 🙂
