Friday 22.12.2023, 4h57min. Winter has begun in the northern hemisphere.

Congratulations to everyone who loves winter.
Here they are, to be able to cool off in the snow, sledding, skiing, snowshoeing...

I'm writing this post, and the only light I can see is the light from my cell phone screen.
It's still dark, even though it's already 7.40am.
I went to work...

I congratulate everyone who is a few thousand kilometers further south, who today marks the beginning of summer and the longest day of the year...
I envy them a little...

But what should I do?
I am not a migratory bird, to fly far away, to wake up this morning with the sun's rays in the northern part of the sky, on the shores of Brazil, Australia, the Republic of South Africa...
On this day, as on all the following days of winter, I will look for the sun, if there is any, if it succeeds in dispersing the dark gray clouds, in the southern part of the sky... and so for the coming months.

Well, I can't say I hate winter.
I just don't like it very much, that is, I much prefer spring, summer or autumn...

The only joy that winter brings me is the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays.

Then, just like my neighbor, who has a beautifully decorated terrace, I prepare for the holidays.

I put decorations in the house, think about preparing food, resting, hanging out with friends and spending time with family.

If it snows, I will try my best to walk on it, until it is completely frozen or until it melts so that it is slush, walking is almost impossible...
I will try if there is a strong winter with snow to enjoy the winter iduil...
Winter idyll - it's been snowing for several days, everything is snowy, it's cold... a few degrees below zero...
Through the window of the warm room, with the fire crackling in the fireplace, with a cup of tea or coffee in hand, I look through the window at that whiteness...

Fuck it, that would be the ideal situation, but no...
We usually feel that we have to go out of the house in such weather...
First to the car, cleaning the driveway, digging out the car from the pile of snow, then heating the cabin, wiping the windows, sliding on the icy streets while driving....
As a colleague told me a couple of times, when we were driving in a frozen car: "Idyll fucked you.".
And he's right...
I do not like winter. I don't like it because for a few days, when the snow was just falling (if I don't have outside commitments on those days), I have to wear a hat, scarf and gloves, a thick jacket and thick shoes or boots all winter...
I'm more of a man for spring... Short-sleeved shirt or t-shirt with a thin jacket, light shoes or sneakers, no umbrella... Enjoying...

The warm season is the law...
And so, slightly out south, enjoy the upcoming holidays with Santa and his sexy helpers in bathing suits on the ocean shores.
Here in the north, we will freeze a little, because "Winter is coming"...
