A place where tranquility reigns
Genuine tranquility of the heart and perfect peace of mind, the highest blessings on earth after health, are to be found only in solitude and, as a permanent disposition, only in the deepest seclusion.
Arthur Schopenhauer
When a person travels, he feeds his soul.
He then discovers new landscapes, new cities, natural beauties, cultures and customs.
On those trips, he finds fun, crowds, peace or quiet. Always depending on what he is looking for and what he needs.
Sometimes, when I go somewhere outside my place of residence, when I travel, I look for a point where I can sit comfortably and enjoy the sight of natural beauties that are in front of my eyes.
I then stare into the distance, or into the treetops, into a cloud or into a flower and meditate in silence and solitude.
Tranquility then rules my soul.
But still it lasts a short time.
That nature, although I like it very much, sometimes also gives me restlessness (sudden summer downpour and thunder, a flock of wasps and hornets, mosquitoes... eEverything that nature offers and gives 😀) and that's why I'm very often glad when I return to our home, our apartment, our peaceful and quiet place...
And in our apartment, we have a terrace.
The terrace, which is my oasis of peace and quiet, far above the hustle and bustle of the street, the voices of people and traffic.
I'm glad that a place where I can be in quiet, where I can be at peace, is available to me whenever I want.
When I can make myself a tea, something to read or just enjoy the beauty of the flowers of my plants...
And where I can think about the #POBPhotocontest given by @friendlymoose 🙂
In this place I find tranquility every day, while in my mind I remember the natural beauties I visited and whose peace I enjoyed.
Until the next trip to nature when I find that spot where I can enjoy the peace, I'm sitting on the terrace, drinking tea and enjoying reading a book.
I wish you a nice day full of tranquility.
The first picture (which was taken earlier with my mobile phone, on top of Tornik, Zlatibor mountain in Serbia) is a picture of a place where I want to enjoy peace and tranquility and I nominate it as my favorite place. These other pictures are new, from a place I enjoy every day.
One can never have enough plants. They do bring a sense of tranquility as your post indicates. This place looks like a great place to relax with a book and some coffee.
The only terrace better than this one(for me), is in my cottage.
There is a terrace under the canopy of a tree (birch), surrounded by a garden full of flowers with a view of the nearby mountain.
There are no neighbors and there is complete peace.
But, it's not close to me, for a daily break, like this terrace in the apartment where I live.
Nice! Cottages are even more exotic.
