An arapaima, weighing 240 kg and 3 meters in length, was captured in the Mameloca Island reserve, in Japurá (AM). The arapaima (Arapaima gigas) is one of the largest freshwater fish on the planet. Native to the Amazon, it promotes benefits to the ecosystem and communities that live from fishing.
