Power blackout wahala

Nigeria is the best place to describe what power outage is all about. I think is should be called power blackout, because power outage is painting it to look fine or to sound sweet to the ear. What we experience here most times is very annoying and somehow I can't even get the correct word or phrase to express what we go through in the hands of the officers in charge of power supply. They treat us as they please and it seems as if we have no say. We just accept whatever we see and still pay what we are asked to pay.

I see this as an opportunity to voice out, but the question is who will hear my voice and come to our aid. Sincerely speaking, our leaders need to look into what is happening with our power supply in this country. Can you imagine that we supply power to other countries and they enjoy the light. We in return don't have access to what we supply to others. What a country! We supply fuel to others country and still don't have fuel. Hahaha 😄. It sounds funny you know. We don't have kerosene to use here, but we give out to other countries. God have mercy on us. 🙏

MY EXPERIENCE WITH POWER OUTAGE
I have lived without power supply for about six years now because of something little that happened between myself and one of their officer. As at then our NEPA Bill was #4500 per month and is just one family. Remember that I am not talking about today. Six years back when that amount can buy half bag of foreign rice. I have personal gone to their office to complain to their manager that the bill that is brought to us is too much. I pleaded with them to reduce the amount, but all my plea fail on deaf ears. At the end of my discussion with them, I was asked to be paying what we can afford for every month and later they will see what they can do about it. One of their staff followed me home and asked me to pay #2000 so that he can work on the reduction of the amount we pay every month. I gladly paid that money and after two months the price dropped and I was very happy thinking that it will last. But I was wrong.

Few months later the price went up again and I ignored them and continue to pay what we can afford every month. In the month of June 2016, the bill came and what we were sopposed to pay was #4500. I went to their office and paid #3000. After three days of the payment they landed in my house with a ladder to cut out light. Myself and my husband pleaded with them not to remove the light and we promise them that by next month we will complete the payment. They never paid attention to what we said and went on to remove our light. Two weeks later there was a heavy down pour and the poll that was used to connect the light was removed by the wind that followed suit. That was the last time we had light in my house.

THE PEACE OF MIND THAT COMES WITH NOT HAVING NEPA LIGHT.
hahaha 😂. I know that some people will say what is this one saying? How will you have peace because you don't have light? Yes dear. I have my peace. No more afraid of coming home to discover that our light has been removed. Whenever I see them carrying their ladder going to remove people's light I will not develop HBP. Maybe as a result of thinking if they have gone to my own house. What we did was to get our rechargeable lights. When we are going to the shop every morning we carry the bulb and charge it in our shop, then bring it back home to use for the night. Sometimes my house have brighter lights in the night more than those who are using NEPA light. I have my generator, I use it when I want to.

With or without power supply we can survive in this country. Very soon. I mean very very soon there will be no body to use NEPA light. Let them just wait for us, sollar is coming in gradually. When I am through with my house project, I will make sure that I supply my own light. Are you asking how it will work?
