Syzran Kremlin. Kremlin construction

The construction of the Syzran Kremlin began in 1683 by order of Emperor Peter Alekseevich. Voivode Grigory Kozlovsky supervised the construction. The fortification is located on a hill at the confluence of the Syzranka and Krymza rivers near the Volga. The Kremlin walls with a total length of over 600 meters were cut down from logs. Wooden towers were erected in the corners, and a stone tower with gates in the front wall. A church, the houses of the governor and servicemen, and outbuildings were hiding behind the fortress walls.
