Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Vladikavkaz. In 1823, the wooden structure was replaced by a stone structure in the shape of a cross in the tradition of Orthodox architecture. The bell tower was located in the western part. On March 24, 1824, the building was solemnly consecrated. In 1860, the building was expanded and surrounded by a stone fence. Akso Koliev, an Ossetian educator and public figure, a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church, opened a girls' school at the temple in 1862. A one-story parish school was built on the territory of the Ossetian church in 1890.
