Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. I like the general idea of meeting at the library on Saturday at 9 am. I think the best course of action is to get to know your neighbors NOW. HAM radios would be great, too, but just knowing the people you live around is best.

In any disaster, regardless of whether or not you hate the government, no one will be there to help you in a weather emergency for 72 hours or so. You are on your own. So it seems to reason that with a larger disaster you are just on your own, even beyond the 72 hours. What do you do?

"No man is an island," is true. We do best in communities, interacting and supporting each other. That is going to look differently depending on lots of variables including rural or urban location as well as the time of year. As my grandfather who served in WWII once said, "Always have a back-up plan."

How will you heat your house if the power goes down? Who is the most vulnerable in your neighborhood? Do you have extra supplies like gasoline, first aid kits, and food? Whatever disaster may occur we should have some sort of personal plan for ourselves and our families, but I don't think it is out of the question to start talking to our neighbors now. We are stronger united and you never know when you might need a favor.

If the media and governments are talking about cyber wars I think it is a given it will happen. We are just the useless eaters that they care little to nothing about while they play their war games. And until more realize all the propaganda and lies are just to manipulate the masses, nothing much will change.
