Jericoacora, Actually living ON the Beach, Northern Brazilian Minimalist Paradise
The peace and good vibes that the environment of the town of Jericoacoara transmits is great; sandy streets, a lot of respect in traffic, only authorized vehicles, lots of nightlife, calm, good gastronomy, a wide range of services of all kinds. Perfect disconnection.
Yes or if you have to do tours to the east and west.
The main beach is NOT the photo they show, it was taken by the sargassum, it is not the best for bathing, but it certainly is for any water sport that needs wind, because there is a lot of it, all day, every day I went . It does not bother. It is the one with the gastronomic services.
The photo is from one of the tours to Lago de Paraiso; I take the service I don't pay for, it's good, we enjoyed it a lot. I really liked the walk to the west, for Fun in the Dunes.
Jericoacoara, or Jeri, is famous for its crystal clear freshwater lagoons, formed in the rainy season, which exhibit shades of blue and green. Mangroves and white sand dunes that stretch for miles turn Jeri into a piece of paradise.
The beaches, the dunes and the pleasant climate of Jericoacoara make it one of the most sought after destinations in Ceará and in Brazil. Its paradisiacal beaches, associated with hospitality and rich gastronomy, ensure the visitor an unforgettable experience.
Different beaches of the place
Jericoacoara Beach
Located in front of the Jijoca village, Jeri beach is the most popular. The beach has a long strip of sand and is an excellent option for practicing sports such as stand up paddle, due to its shallow waters and small waves. Kitesurfing and sailing are also widely practiced by visitors, as the winds are strong and constant.
The beach is also the setting for a show that attracts tourists daily: from the 'Sunset Dune' it is possible to contemplate a beautiful sunset.
Pedra Furada Beach
Known for the rock with a cleft in the middle, the beach is one of Jeri's postcards, especially during the month of July, when the sunset stays positioned on the cleft inside the stone.
It is only about 40 minutes' walk, at low tide, to go from the village of Jijoca to the Pedra Furada Beach. Along the way it is possible to find caves and natural pools. The tour can also be done by the Morro del Serrote, which offers the opportunity to take incredible photos of the view.
paradise lagoon
Characterized by the beautiful color of the water, it is one of the favorite attractions of tourists. One of the local highlights are the hammocks that are in the water to relax and that everyone likes. And if you want to experience gastronomy, Laguna Paraíso has an excellent infrastructure with restaurants along the shore.
blue Lagoon
If what you are looking for is to rest, in Laguna Azul it is possible to enjoy the beauty of the lagoon relaxing in the beach chairs and hammocks. For sports lovers, the practice of stand up paddle is common in the crystal clear and warm waters. There are rides on catamarans or “esquibóia” (a type of board pulled by the catamaran), and they are perfect for the more adventurous.
Tatajuba Lagoon
Surrounded by dunes and very calm, the Laguna da Tatajuba has an excellent structure. Located on the west coast of Jeri, the lagoon generally receives those who ride in a 4×4 through the region.
Dry Mangue Beach
The highlight of Playa do Mangue Seco is the ride on a boat where you can see the seahorses in their natural habitat. The arrival is marked by the beauty of huge, dry trees with obvious roots.
