Donate blood save a life

I’ve been sleeping the past 2 hours but I feel like I’ve slept longer today. I had errands to run while I was out nothing super important then I saw in the parking lot of a store across from where I stopped there was a Medic Blood donation bus. I figured I have nothing special going on and have time I was going to donate blood.
I’m no stranger to blood donations and have donated since I was 16. So this was a normal run for me or so I thought. I get on the bus and start answering the questionnaire and showing identification. Well other than they had IPads now this was nothing new. The lady taking my info then excused herself for a minute into this little cubicle sized room for pre donation blood testing. She then comes out and asks me into the room something normal. She closes the door and does the tests and she seemed excited as she went through the tests. And then she looked at me and said I must ask you a favor. There is an immediate need for my blood and if I would possibly do a live donation. I had no clue what that meant and said well I was hoping to always donate while alive. She said there was a person in need at our local hospital that a call out for blood was made at 9:30 am (it was at this time 1:15ish pm). They need a single donor and if I would be able to donate at the hospital with a live transfusion.
