A Chronicle of Bikers in Lagos - (Acrylic Painting).

Good Day Fellas,

To the glory of God I finally graduated as a Visual Arts Student from the University of Lagos. In the course of executing my final year projects, I did a literary research on a Nigerian painter who goes by the name Timi Kakandar. I shall elaborate on that some other time.

On the second phase of my project, I was expected to created a work of art on a particular theme approved by my project supervisor and so I decided to make something sorrounding the ban on bikers in Lagos, Nigeria.

I made me sketch and a smaller version of the painting and it got approved by my supervisor and then I proceeded to making this wonderful artwork which is as big as 3 1/2 by 5 feet.

If you would go through the process and progress pictures, you would noticed that it wasn't what I sketched initially that I finished with. At some point, my supervisor wanted me to make the piece appear more dramatic considering that fact that that's one of the most common attributes of many streets in Lagos, Nigeria.

I made the painting using acrylic and I also combined the palette knife and brush strokes techniques in creating the work and that was so fun and fulfilling.

What aspect of the painting is your favorite?
