Another Trial and Error in CUB Staking

avatar

Fifteen days ago, I decided to study CUB staking. Before my second son was the one doing the transactions with BSC and since he is familiar with the platform, everything went smoothly and perfectly.

Exploring this CUB staking on my own, everything started just fine. I first unstaked the CUB balance that had been sitting in my wallet for more than nine months.

I paid a $0.56 gas fee to complete the first transaction.

Permitting to access my CUB, I paid an additional $0.09.

So far, so good.

And then I made a comparative analysis of APY depending on staking duration.

For one week, the total APY is just 3.44%. It means after a week I will earn 6.525 CUB with my 189.822 staked CUB. I can unlock my stake on 14 December.

And then I tried for ten weeks.

This time the APY increased to 8.42% and I can unlock my stake on 15 February next year.

How about the maximum? Staking my token for a year?

image.png

As you can see, staking my CUB for 52 weeks the APY is 31.65% giving me earnings of 60.075 CUB.

Finally, I decided to go for just half a year giving me 22.80% APY.

However, I want to add a little more CUB to my stakes and so I went to PancakeSwap to buy 152 CUB.

image.png

To confirm that swap, I paid $0.25 in the gas fee.

After this point, I got confused about what to do next. I mistakenly unstaked the CUB that I just bought thinking that this is the next step I have to do to add the newly bought CUB to the ones I already staked.

image.png

For that mistake, I paid another $0.56 in the gas fee.

image.png

Realizing that I made a mistake, I deposited my CUB again.

image.png

Paying another $0.60 gas fee for that transaction.

I got confused by these two bars:

That’s not what I had in mind. I was wondering why the two CUBS are separated.

Finally, I got it!

I was able to transfer and add the new CUB I bought to the old CUB I had.

So far, that’s the story of my trial and error in studying CUB staking. I paid a total of $4.66 in gas fees before I finally learned how this thing works. That’s funny! The good thing is next time I think I know what to do.

Grace and peace!
