Our Fraternity Chapter's First Project

Rho Sigma Fraternity & Sorority or Rhojans had their Sibonga Chapter established last August 28 during their first Anniversary which I am proud to be a part with. We only have 7 members as of this moment but that didn't stop us from doing what was expected for us members of this wonderful group. During the past month we 7 founding members of the Sibonga Chapter wanted to do a project for our community and we had decided that we will give school supplies for the children of Purok 6 of Baranggay Simala of our town of Sibonga, Cebu.

The project happened yesterday Sunday October 9, 2020 after lunch around 1pm in the afternoon. When we arrived at the place, people have already gathered around their purok chapel and were ready for the event

Before we officially started the event, like all other events in the world we started it with a prayer which was lead by one of the resident of Purok 6, the girl holding the microphone.

Which was followed by our very own Rho Sigma Sister Venus, which is also one of the barangay councilors of Barangay Simala, who also gave a small speech.

Which was then followed by our very own Rho Sigma Sibonga Chapter President Brother Kerr, thanking the residents and the barangay officials of Purok 6, Simala, Sibonga, Cebu for accepting our proposal of giving out school supplies to the children of purok 6.

I forgot to mention that during this event. We were also in the presence of Barangay Simala's current Barangay Captain, which was kind enough to also gave a speech thanking us Rhojans for the school supply donations for the children of purok 6, Simala.

Now that the introductions were done, so we should go ahead and distribute the school supplies so we can all go home in peace? Not so fast dear reader. Before we have distributed the school supplies we also had games in mind for the children to play. We also had a little bit of cash prizes for the game winners and the participants.

Honestly my camera was not good enough to capture fast moving images in low light and so I skipped taking photos of the games during this time but I had another idea in mind to prove that we did have games and everyone was happy and enjoying it during these times. My proof? The peoples smiles, yes. While my other brothers were filming/taking videos of the games we had. I was busy hunting for the smiles of the people who were watching the games unfold.

But before all of the wonderful photos of smiles and laugher that I have amassed, I just want to start things off with our Sister Venus explaining the mechanics of the first game. And so without further ado let's get on with the smiles shall we? NOTE: Some images were a little blurry thanks to my entry level camera plus mediocre photography skills so please bear with me :)

This woman is the cream on that crowd, probably the best smile/laughter that I have ever watched in a while. I honestly at a loss of words and I don't know how to describe it. For me it is just "Genuine" and nothing else. Kudos to you "nanay". That is what we call old women who are not related to us that we have huge respect in the Philippines, well at least for me that is what I believe in. I don't call out "nanay" if I don't have any form of respect for them.

And with that I officially close my smile/laugh hunting. I wonder which of the smiles caught your attention, I would love to know your thoughts down in the comments.
