Hello Photography Lovers, Nature Lovers and to all hivers, I am here once again to share the photos that I got for today. If you already noticed me and my posts you might be wondering why the title of todays post is not Sun Rise Photography... Well you need to read the post first :) and without further a do let's get it on!

I woke up early as usual around 4:30 in the morning and this time I didn't waste any time this time (unlike yesterday). After I have done all my preparations for todays photoshoot I just went on ahead to our local wharf. I arrived at our local wharf around 5:15 AM and as you can see it was still quite dark during that time. The whole wharf was still so dark so I had no choice but to take a photo of the nearby Municipal Building as a proof. Since it was still dark so I just did my early morning walk. I walked back and forth from the wharf entrance till the end middle of the wharf just to get my actifit points up. Now this is what I call killing two birds with one stone.

Around 6:00 AM the sun is still nowhere to be seen and two more guys arrived to go fishing, from what I could tell one of the two guys is the grandson of the guy wearing a white sleeveless shirt.

I waited for the sun to rise but it seemed like a useless endeavor and around 6:30 AM it started to rain so I decided to maybe just call it a day and go home.

And there you have it... the reason why the title of this post is different... Anyways for the rest of the morning nothing of note really happened, but the afternoon was different and here is why the title for today post is macroshots.

Earlier this afternoon my cousin said she took a very nice photo of a jumping spider near a flower and showed it to me. I told her she sucked at taking macro pictures and so I took one for myself... Seems to me that taking macro photos of very small insects/bugs is quite difficult especially if you are only using a smartphone. Not only do you need to keep your hands steady, you also need to be careful as to not to share your model. So what we did is we took turns to see who had the better photo of the jumping spider. So now we are having a little competition on who is the better photographer between the two of us 😅.

After careful consideration between the two of us, I won the jumping spider macro photography hands down haha just kidding. I won because I took a photo of the jumping spider looking at the camera. Since I had nothing better to do for the rest of the afternoon I decided to look around and see if there are other insects/bugs that I can take a macro-photo of... And I found one which was kind of a surprise to me, I saw a dragonfly! It has been a very long time since the last time I saw a dragonfly flying around these areas. So I decided to take a photo of it.

img20220208142504.jpg

I only got 1 photo of the dragonfly since the autofocus of my smartphone doesn't want to cooperate with me. It seems like my phone can't focus on a 1 inch long and 1mm wide dragonfly and is having a hard time, not to mention the strong wind which made it even harder to get a good shot. It took me dozens of times to get a good shot at it and after I got my shot it flew away 😢. This guy is a green dragonfly which is quite common... but I saw a skyblue and a red one but couldn't take a photo of it since when I get close, it just flies away 😭.

The next one I saw was a stink bug and once again only one good shot and bye bye stink bug.

Next I saw a hairy moth caterpillar... This little guy also gave me a hard time as he was crawling too fast for me to keep track of him. I got a couple of good shots I guess... It's not that clear as the previous macro shots but I can't really do anything about it. I gave up midway through since it was fast...

I also saw a poop fly and after a few minutes of following it around I finally got a good shot at it before it flew away... I wanted it to be a little bit closer but the focus just wont cooperate with me 😭

Then suddenly a mosquito decided to take a snack at my hand... I noticed it and waited for it to stick it's stringer and start sucking by blood before I took a picture of it so that it won't fly away when I take a shot at it. A noble sacrifice for the sake of photography lol. When the bite was itching so much that I couldn't handle not to scratch the bitten area, I just smacked it down to oblivion 😂.

And last but definitely not the least is another jumping spider. If felt like this would be the last since it would make a good story... I started with a jumping spider and ending with a jumping spider... What's with these jumping spiders being curious about this huge chunk of plastic slowly getting closer and closer to them. But unlike the first jumping spider which was not afraid of the phone getting so close to it this guy is kinda shy and jumped away only after 2 shots which is sad since it looked kinda cool with it's camoufaged body...

And that's it for today from me guys. Honestly taking macro-shots at insects/bugs using only a smart phone is really kinda hard. Not only do you need a very stable hand but you also need to find ways as to not scare them away... Now I understand a little bit why photographers have a very expensive professional fees. I haven't even learned how to post process a photo and I'm already seeing how hard it is to take a photo when you want precise methods such as macro-shots. It may take me a very long time to master photography but I will try my very best... I hope you guys enjoyed reading my blog and looking at my photos! Have a blessed day ahead of you, cheers!

!LUV the macro shots, @pinkhub. The two guys fishing and the spider are my favorite shots. Also, the two shots following the two guys fishing are nice because of the bluish tinge. May professional feel. You did a good job on the macro shots too.

Thank you bro @juanvegetarian 😁 I love those shots too but the one I love the most is the one that I made as the post cover or thumbnail. That jumping spider looking directly at the camera seems priceless to me considering that the phone was so close to it and it didn't jump away. Its like a person striking a pose 😍
