THINK BEFORE YOU DECIDE
Decision making is an integral part of us as higher class species. The ability to make better decisions is a quality that has made us, humans, to be a higher class species when compared to others.

It is important to think very well before making decisions because the decisions we make can affect us either positively or negatively on a long or short term basis.
If positively, them we become happy and gain more capacity and trust to make riskier decisions, but if negatively, we loose trust from other people in terms of decision making, and we tend to become sad.
Personally, I do make decisions, both risky and less risky decisions. I would not say that I am good with decision making, but I am average with decision making.
It is important to note many factors before making a decision. The steps taking before making a decision is ultimately dependent on what you are deciding on. However, there are general steps taken before making a decision. In one word, it is called "thinking."
Before making a decision, the baseline of what you should do is think.
You may ask: why should I think? What should I think of?
It is very much important to properly think before you make a decision because when you think through, your brain tends to bring diverse measures, diverse options that will aid in making that decision. Example, if you want to make your scale of preference, at times, deciding the wants that will be at the top is somewhat difficult. But with proper thinking, you can decided the ones that will be at the top, and the ones that will be your alternative forgone.
During thinking, I do think of the following:
Why do I want this?
What will it bring to my table? And how will it be of good to me or the people around me
What do I have to give to get what I want?
If I get this thing, will I be contented?
Do I really want to make this decision?
Is it worth it? Will it bring extra stress to me without compensating me?
Would my decision affect any body irrespective of what my decision is? And so on.......
Making decisions is not a one day thing, mainly making major decisions. Personally, I do take up about 24 to 48 hrs to make a very important decision. I will like to sleep over he matter first before I make my decision.
Sometimes, I am not successful with making decisions, while sometimes I don't know what to decide on. Two days ago, I went out to buy food (something I will not normally do but had to do it because I'm moving out of my place and I can't cook). When I went out, I started asking myself what I wanted to eat but I couldn't find any answer. At that moment, I felt like a female (no offense). I thought really hard but nothing came to mind. I just had to go into the kitchen and ordered the first thing that came out of my mouth.
Also, sometimes the thing we decide on turns out to be of negative impact. The ability to properly manage this situation will determine wether you have successfully learn from you failure to properly decide.
When my decision fails, the first thing I do is to reassure myself because I know that I will surely be disappointed in my self. After reassuring myself, I will bring out my mistakes, think of he things that made me chose the wrong option, the i will learn from my mistakes and pay more attention to every details before deciding.

That's very true on the time for Decision Making.
Some decisions requires a lot of analyzing and Time
Yes sure.
Analysis is important
I believe this are thought provoking questions and vital areas to consider when making a decision. There are a lot of things to consider while deliberating on a decision, sometimes the time frame of coming to a conclusion on a decision depends how major it is.
I have found myself in this situation many times, there are times I feel hungry but couldn't decide on what to eat, instead of wasting time thinking about it I just take a walk in the street looking at every item anything that attract my interest will definitely be what I will end up going for. It works for me most times and sometimes I come back home empty handed 😅
Lol.. sometimes, those things I'm seeing will make me more confused and I will not know what I want to go for again.. hehe.
It is important to ask these questions. It doesn't mean you're an over thinker, it means you want don't want to regret anything.
Hanks for stopping by
I totally agree with you on this, decision making takes time and it requires deep thinking.
Yes, it requires a lot of thinking
Questioning your mind is ,no doubt, a good technique and finding solution is shaping step in decision making. We should question that why am I taking this decision?
Who is getting benefit?
How I will decide?
Am I comfortable with the answer?
And there are other many questions which shape our decision.

True, diverse questions are to be asked when making a decision. Sometimes, when I am asking my self these questions, it feels like I am about to go max because I do think aloud when I'm alone sometimes. Hehe.
Overthinking is not right. You should be concise and considerate in your thinking process.
Yes, but at times, it can not be helped
