Many things have been fangled which has helped with our activities of daily living. Not only that, science has taken many steps to exploring life outside earth. Risky and crazy you may say, but its worth it.
Though the cost of these inventions are really high, the evolution and exposure it brings to mankind has proven to be worth every penny spent on it.
Science has made it easier to connect with loved ones, it has made travelling faster and way more comfortable, we do not have to ride on Horses and Camels under the hot sun just to move from one place to another. Science has created many things, including Artificial Intelligence, advanced and comfortable houses to live in, easier way of marketing and saving money, and many other things.

It is said that everything that has an advantage, will surely have a disadvantage. However, the disadvantages in which science has is more or less greater than its advantages.
One time (worthy of note) scientist took their inventions too far is by creating artificial intelligence.
Inarguably, artificial intelligence is very good, it has helped in many ways and even made works faster and easier. however, it is making people lazier.
Students now do not have the zeal to make research (I included) because there is always chat gpt. Just gpt the whole thing and save your time for something else. Trust me, you will end up gpt-ing the other things.
Cheating in a test or exams is an easy thing to do. Just hide your phone to the exams hall, and then, chat with PI on WhatsApp or gpt that shit.
Currently, you can just describe a picture you want to an artificial intelligence and it will construct the picture, even better than what you want. The joy and worth of a painting is in the time and sweat spent on the particular painting, but currently, some people are just using AI to make it easier for them.
How can we even trust medical doctors with our health again? This gpt has found its way to the medical school and everyone is using it to pass their exams. Instead of going to different medical site to get the many information we need, we will go to gpt.
Even though the AI is currently dominating everywhere now, there are places that lacks science - power.
One of this many places is the health sector.
When I say lack science - power, I do not mean to bring in gpt.
Most times, if not all of the times, medical practitioners improvise to get what they want(speaking of the availability of instruments). Science needs to invent more instruments for the health sector to make their work easier, faster and more efficient.
Also, more research needs to be done in other to get the cure for many disease such as cancer, aids, diabetes and many other disease that has no cure.
Due to the way medical practitioners manage themselves by improvising, their needs are not well known.

AI has made humans lazy, like the instances you gave about the exam malpractice it's not right, imagine using AI to write exams and graduate with a degree then finally get a job what's gonna happen next, how do they cope..

This question is so valid because with the help of artificial intelligence or even cramming, people can pass so easily. I always feel like maybe the practical classes they have will actually give them more experience than the theoretical aspect, although they are both important. So, maybe we can 'kind of' trust them, or what do you think?
we can trust the doctors to do their job. i am not trying to discourage anyone but my point there is that with the advent of AI, things is at risk of crashing. everything is just going left hand

Beyond making humans lazy, artificial intelligent is gradually replacing labor in general. I just pray the poor find their place after there jobs must have been taken away by artificial intelligence
it is really making people lazy. no body is willing to put in works in other to be perfect
I have to politely disagree with you here brother. AI is not as bad as we are making it out to be. It is just a new technology. Yes it might not make us research (though currently we do need to as AI is nowhere that accurate always) but it will help us spend that research time on new solutions. Similarly the only reason cheating is so easy is because our exam system is still centuries old. We have not been able to innovate on finding out what students know from their studies. As a result we are exam takers more than knowledge ingestors when we are in college. There is absolutely a lot of things that can go wrong, but I chalk it up to humankind rather to science. Given time AI will stabilize as did motor cars, aeroplanes, computers, and internet.
AI is actually doing more harm than you can imagine. yes i know, it makes research works easier and very much faster and also, it saves up time. this is inarguable.
However, the school system is constantly depreciating because of the laziness in which this AI has impacted to our community. the concept of hard work is being lost as the day goes by and what is being produced nowadays are people who ask AI more or less everything.
and oh, for the records, the advent of science has helped with the evolution of the schol systems as zoom meeting can be held to learn from home.
i am still in support of the good old exams because if exams are not written, then this gen z will turn the world into something something else in the nearest future.
Truly, people are letting themselves loose on AI by trying to let it do things for them instead. But such decisions are personal, not the AI dictating how they should be used.
AI, like every other tool in the world, just exists, and we are the ones that determine how it comes into our lives. AI is powerful. And there is great potential we can attain by harnessing it ethically and responsibly.

I agree. While it helps a lot, it has made a lot of people more lazy. But I think people who became lazy through the use of AI are people who are actually lazy from the outset.

I see AI as a doubled edged sword, it can help ome grow and it can also hinder the success of a person by making the person lazy.
They will need to implement mobile detection in classrooms to identify troublemakers. Additionally, they should gather them at the entrance and release them at the exit.

the thing here is that most of the teachers over here are more or less old and dont want anything to do with the internet except making phone calls and chatting with their children - who are abroad, on whatsapp. the young teachers are not willing to waste their time (in their tone) in searching for things like this. the thing they say always is that: "he who will be useful, will always be useful."
