THE MOST COMMON TOOL THAT SAVES LIVES

Pictures are very important in keeping memories for a very long time.

As time goes on, our cells depreciates in its function, the brain cells responsible for keeping the memory intact also looses its function.

We are humans and we are bound to forget things as time passes and we grow older, but when we take pictures of our activities, we are bound to remember some of the memories, if not all the memories that accompany it.

Though it could have been better if everyone was immortal with perfect health, I believe the way we are created was for a reason.

Even at this young age, I forget things and some times, I have to make a list of things in other to remember.

As well, there are many objects that are very important to us. Some of these objects has become a part of us and we can not do with them.
I have objects like this, and honestly, I do not know what I will do without tis object of mine.

To some people it is their phone, to some it is clothes or some thing else, but to me, this object is my pen. Yes, my red and blue pen.

I bet you already know where this is going yeah? Yes, I'm a nurse with the red and blue pen. Stick to this post to know the importance of this pen and why we never let go of it

The red and blue pen has been part of the nursing and midwifery uniform.

From a distance, it looks like a design made to beautify the uniform and make it stand out but what if I tell you that it holds more importance than you imagine?

The blue pen in the uniform is normal but the red? The red is for emergencies. When a person is not normal. Basically,the red is for abnormalities.

When everything is normal with a patient during observation, that is, vital signs, clerking a patient, e.t.c, the blue pen is used r record the findings. But, if a health care provider notice any abnormality, like a body temperature of 39⁰C the red pen is used to record, then immediate care offered to the patient.

There are many recordings in patients folder. Every health practitioner records their findings in there. The red and blue Writting is like an easy way to bring the health providers attention to a past normal or abnormal vital signs, and ways or preventing reoccurrence.

The red on is also used to record "left against medical advice" and "death" of a patient.

WHAT A PEN MEAN TO ME AS A PRACTITIONER

ALOT.

Without these two pen, I will not be able to work. That's how bad I need the pen.

Recording of findings is a important aspect of health care because with the previous record, you will have a glimpse of what to expect and be guided towards avoiding it.
Its like in crypto trading, the market chart gives a guide for technical analysis yeah? The previous record in health care give a guide to prevent complications, or reoccurrence of something in the future and aid proof management of a patient.

For example, it is important to record allergies and what provokes allergic the reaction of a patient so as to avoid them and give optimal care to the given patient.

Being a medical practitioner, this red and blue pen is of unlimited importance as it aids in proper recording.
Without recording, there is bound to be mistakes within the health sector and many lives could be lost as a result.
Thanks to one of the most common thing, we are spared from complications that may result from lack of proper recording.
