My Holiday: A trip to Ojukwu's bunker

I wish you a Merry Christmas.

Today is Christmas but it honestly do not feel like Christmas. I miss being a child ya'know.

The struggles with life is gradually removing my consciousness from festivities and it is making me look colder than I am.

The long awaited holiday is here, the day we celebrate Jesus, the day we get to meet many of our relatives and extended family who have been lost for quite some time, it's a day when we eat, drink, play and forget about the struggles of life and the hells life has to show us. Unfortunately for me, I do not feel like today is that day, I always want to work, make research and make my knowledge broad. I've been cold these days and it seems like I become colder with the more knowledge I get. Don't bat me for coming clean.

Many people went out this Christmas, some went for sight seeing, some went on dates, some hung out with their friends and family, some went to the movie theater, some were working and didn't have time and some were in the house all through.

We all have different ways to celebrate our Christmas and this is unique to us.

WHAT I DID FOR THIS HOLIDAY

I have been bagging up knowledge about forex lately. currently, I have gotten the basics, and I am on my way to getting better knowledge about the different types of market analysis there is.

Though slow and tiring, I am happy with my progress, as i have gotten used to somethings.

I remembered that all reading without play could lead to a temporary mental block, so I had to take a break and feed my eyes with some wonderful sights.

Thanks to @hivedeb for her wonderful company.

After my exams at umuahia, I connected with hivedeb and together we went to interesting places in umuahia Abia state.

First we went to Ojukwu's bunker, where we saw where Ojukwu lived. We saw his house, his sitting room, bedroom, kitchen and even a little cell for prisoners.

We weren't allowed to take pictures for reasons that was not explained to us. Well, I took a sneak shot of a selfie in the bunker though.

If you don't know who Ojukwu is: He is the person that led the igbos during the Nigerian - Biafran war, when the igbos seek independence and called themselves Biafra but Nigeria refuse to grant their wish, thus the war. It's a kind of similar to Pharaoh and the Israelites in the Bible.

It was said that the bunker is about 30ft deep and was built in 90days. The bunker is not that wide though, if I'm not mistaken, it could be compared to our modern day 3 bedrooms flat (in terms of the bunkers width).

The place is filled with memories and you will really learn a lot from there.

HAVE I TRAVELLED TO MY FAMILY?

Nope. I don't plan on doing that until I finish my school next year. Without a doubt, I do miss my family but im heading out to face life so I've got to economize every single thing.

WHAT IF MEANS FOR ME

I really enjoyed my time and my eyes add well as my ear a wee all fed up to the max. I could hear these organs of mine saying a joyful "thank you" to me because they saw and heard a lot.

Hivedeb on the other hand was such a lovely person to be around and I will want to do something my this again with her and other members

MY REVIEW OF THE PLACE

This place is really great and awesome ase well. The rooms are kind of tiny. It is about ½ of my room in school and the prison cel looks like a tiny walk way. I was told it was a prison cell and was told how it worked but up till now, I still have doubt in my mind caus' it is a typical walk way but a little bit thinned out. Maybe I'm worst than Thomas when it comes to believing, hehe.

Additionally, I think they should properly maintain that place and good lighting should be installed.
