MCGI TOPIC REFLECTION: EASTER CELEBRATION PART 2

Easter is a time celebrated by every christian.
It has been one of the major celebration throughout history and many Christians have celebrated it.
From the first video by Brother Eli Soriano, we found out that the dates of this celebration has constantly been shifted. From one date in 2019 to another in 2020 and still shifted again. The confusing thing here is that the death and resurrection of Christ happened within three days. The date of this three days should be maintained but it is not maintained leading me to say that my whole life has more or less been a lie. I have been waiting for the second part to drop which it has. Now let's delve in and see what it has to say.

It will be unfair to us, if you say - why do you guys not celebrate Easter?
Brother Eli Soriano

Right from the time of the isrealites, it has been taught to perform a special celebration in honor of God almighty. When they were being carried out of the land of Egypt, God said to Moses that the month will be the first month for the isrealites. It will be the first month of each year. God went further to tell Moses how to perform this feast and celebration for the Lord's passover.

We can see the full instruction of how to celebrate this in the Bible passage below 👇

Exodus 12:1 to 5 and 11

Exodus 12:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 12:2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. 12:3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house: 12:4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. 12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: 12:11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD's passover.

When God gave them this instruction to Moses and Aaron, he said that this month they left the Egyptians, shall be the first month of the year for them. This means that the calendar of the isrealites is entirely different from the Egyptians calendar.

It is important to know that the Christians, Muslim, Hindu and Romans have different calenders.

The Hebrew calender is that which is used by the Lord Jesus about 2 thousand years ago and in this calender, the passover is what is being celebrated. However, if asked why we don't celebrate Easter, this is because we use the Hebrew calender.

Now my question here is that: does that mean that the Christian and Hebrew calender are different?

Well, let's wait for the third part of this topic.

This is my reflection to the MCGI topic - Easter celebration part 2
